I bought a UC at Harbor Freight for like $80. (got the biggest one go big or go home) and have been using it to steep my juice for about a month now! Jury's still out on how well it works because I'm still messing with my recepies! Mine has a heater that goes to about 140-150 deg. and after it gets warm you turn off the heater and it holds temp from the ultrasonic I think! This may be like DUH to most of you but don't UC steep in plastic bottles! You get a plastic taste at first but it goes away! But still if it's transferring flavor what else is it doing? So I bought 6 amber glass 120ml bottles from Amazon & its much better! Spent $108 at RTS last night on PG VG & flavors last night! Didn't buy any 10ml flavors this time just 30's & 120's! Oh yah, my UC only runs in 8min. cycles & you have to let it rest for a few after about 3 cycles!
$30 from HF in May 2013. No heat needed. It maintains about 135F.
Four 45-60 minute cycles with an hour or so between.
I've been beating on this 3 minute UC for about 30 months at least twice a week.

I found a hell of a deal on a phenotype L rda today, so I've got it running on the rx200 instead of the troll tonight

My coils look a bit wonky but it's 4 wrap 3mm id SS316L Clapton at. 11ohm, at 80 watts this thing should last all day on charged batteries.

I was in a rush to build it to see how the flavor is and this rda is awesome. I had to take the mutank apart tonight anyways so I can put a new build in it tomorrow. Gonna try something a Lil different in that and see how it works out

I have batteries, too, for an rx I haven't ordered yet.
Glad to see i'm not the only one planning ahead haha. When i ordered my first rx,i had a little scare because the rx showed out for delivery, but the batteries weren't even showing at my post office yet,so i thought i would just be staring at the mod for a few days,so this time around,i don't want any chances haha.

same same. I stared at that thing for a day and a half before the batteries showed up and then could be charged. What a trial!

Amen. I think I bought 16 of them on that deal.
It was cheaper for me to just get my batteries (25r's) from vapenw with the rest of my order then go elsewhere because of shipping so that I didnt have to worry about. I think this round I'll be going back to rtd though. Wish he still had the 4 vtc4 for $27 though...

And that machine usually boots batteries at 3.5ish volts, right? Mine does. At 7 volts (3.5 x 2) 80 watts is only 11 amps. Any of those batteries will do nicely. No real need to pay for the Sonys unless you just want them. I'd say get whatever you can at the best price. Or go for the HG2s or 30Qs if you are hunting longest possible time between charges.

How did those tiger coils vape in the mt. I've got some flat wire and 28g laying around

just now getting it through rayon break in--I switch mods too much-- but they hit very well. I'm running it on the SX at 40 watts. It doesn't want to go higher because the ID is too small for juice transport. I first built a set of parallel 4 wrap tigers for it, which would have been beastly, but I couldn't get them in the barrel. (Sigh)

A Velocity deck is simply the best I've seen for verticals. And I have often thought it would lend itself to double barrel quads. But my only Velocity is BF, and my only squonker is a Reo, so I am limited to whatever one VTC4 will fire. I ought to buy one-- or maybe a Mutank-- so I can try it. Today I hope to put SS quads in my Vortex. That ought to tell me much of what I want to know :)

I honestly prefer horizontal coils in my velocity. Tried verticals and just didnt care for it. Gf uses hers so little I still have the verts in hers so I can try both ways side by side and still prefer horizontals.

They're really best in higher Ω values and lower watts for flavor. Put a horseshoe wick on them, and they're tough to beat. That's how I have mine rigged.

Maybe thats my problem then cause I think I have a .17 in hers. It is wicked horseshoe though. To me the wick gives out to fast compared to horizontal with each end of the coil having its own tail aka I get too many dry ended hits lol.

I swap their positions every cycle JIC.
The water stays hotter at max capacity with 2 120s & 2 60s
I refresh it with HOT water for every cycle.
I always use glass. I read about BPA leaching before I even started DIY so figure why chance it.
I don't know if all or any of our juice bottles produce it but IDGAS. No plastic in my USC.

Glass should work better anyway.
It'll transfer UC waves better while plastic would soften their effectiveness IMO

I let the bottles aerate during cooling cycles and overnight in a shoebox but rarely vape it within a week.
Friends say it's good to go the very next day after making it but I like it better with a steep.
