26 has been my go to size for quite some time. I have everything from 24 to 30, some Ni200, but a small amount to try tc, Ni80 in 26g, the ss I mentioned and the Clapton stuff. I'll probably end up going back to my 26. 24 is like trying to heat up a car coil spring to me. I even have some flat kanthal which I used to make some tiger wire once. Didn't care much for that either. Simplicity, I guess for me, is the name of the game.
Pretty much the same here.I have a large amount of 30g left from back when i first started, when i was rebuilding protank coils, still have a large amount of 28g because i thought i would never change from it haha,i bought a 100' spool of 28g Ni200,and i used maybe a foot of it before i realized tc wasn't for me,then i discovered 26g and have never touched any of the others.I forgot,i also bought a large spool of 24g,and like you, seemed like i needed way too much power to get a decent vape from the 24,so that was very short lived as well haha,26 just seems like the perfect sweet spot for me.I recently got some 26g stainless, and tried it a few times, still up in the air on it though,i haven't used it enough yet to know if i really like it or not haha.

That's what my standard go to build has been for a couple years now,i tend to stay right at .3 though.I used to use 28g all the time, then decided to try 26g and have never touched the 28 again after that. Not sure what the big difference is between the 2,but i found 26 to be quite a bit better.
Me, too. I build a lot of single strand stuff. I'm also fond of 28 and 30ga twists.

I will make use of the 30 that I have, and even the 28 and 29g. Some simple twisted wire is pretty good! Good enough I don't want to get rid of it. But my 24, that will probably go to a new home. And the verdict is still out on the ss wire. It'll make like a lot easier just having one wire size, same coils, etc.

I remember running dual parallel 24g coils back in the mech mod days. It was super easy to do a .08 or .1 ohm build that way.

I've tried 20gauge before and that is some thick wire, I used it on a dual 26650 mech box and it was crazy. Biggest cloud I've ever seen was off that wooden box mod.

I don't miss the mech days tho, not at all. It's so much easier now just pushing a button to adjust the wattage and having built in short protection is always a plus.

I couldn't even imagine using any of that super heavy wire! And as far as mechanicals are concerned, I will always have them. Nothing really to break, and good to have plenty of in case of the vapocalypse. But I sure am enjoying the regulated in a big way. They are in my daily use, but also my mechanicals, too. For work I take one RX200 and two CC mods with me.

Me, too. I love me some mech mod. Squonkers and tubes forever!

Alright guys at this point in my Vaping journey I'm into anything Clapton! Alien duals in my Griffin 6wraps 3.5 ID .3ohm, 26/32 6 wrap 3.5 Id .5ohm regular duals in the MT, and a 2*26x32 3.5Id 5wrap twisted fused in the TFV4! So what I'm really looking for in SS is a cleaner flavor. Still searching for my vaping Nirvana & the search is what it's all about!:headbang:

I found a spool of prebuilt 26/32g kanthal Clapton wire that I thought I threw away. I'll have to give it a try and see how it is compared to the SS Clapton's I've been running for over a month now flavor wise.

I remember at first I didn't like the SS wire but now I love it

All of my mechs are squonkers except my original Nemmy clone and a Stingray clone thats never been out of the box. Love those squonkers! I only wish I could afford one of those rare DNA200 squonkers. But these tanks afford me the flavor and vapor on par with my drippers! Right now, I'm game for anything. As Bill, says, it's all about searching for our own vaping nirvana :vapor:

I hear ya, I'm very happy with the Griffin RTA. The flavor is close to my RDA, the vapor production isn't even close but that's because my RDA runs at 60 Watts higher then the Griffin.

I wish I could run the Griffin real high wattage, I'm probably gonna get some fused Clapton wire so I can run this thing over 100 Watts.

Try some Alien claptons! That's what's in my Griff right now!Dual 6 wraps 3.5 ID .3ohms coils stuffed with rayon narrowed just enough to fit the top of the juice channels! This thing rocks all the way to 200w where I burnt my tongue! LOL! For me 90w is my ADV!

P.S. If anyone is tired of hearing about this build, tough:censored:! It's my fave right now & I'm loving it!:headbang:

I'll have to give that a try.I've done 28 twisted, but never tried a 28/30 twist. That would be a great way to use up some of this wire that would never get used otherwise.

My first couple sqounkers were mechs, and i still have them, never have to worry about much with them, but then i decided i wanted to try vw sqounking, and i was hooked. My first was one i built myself with a hammond 1590g box,fat daddy 510,and a dna 40.I loved it,but because of the way i had to mount everything, juice kept getting on the board and it would start acting wonky.I ended up getting 2 of the vaporflask sqounk clones, and love those things too.I want a higher wattage one now,but they are just stupid expensive for the higher watt ones,so i think i may have to build another soon haha.

Rip the board out of a rx200 and put it in there.

That just reminded me,there was someone in the bottom feed forum that did make a sqounker from an rx200,and it actually looks pretty easy. They left out the 3rd battery and put the bottle there, then they swapped out the 510 and added the tubing.Looks like i need to grab another rx,by the way,777vape has a going out of business sale, and they have the rx200 for $25.

I'd order one at that price just to try to make a squonker with it if I had the spare money right now

I had to bust out the rx200 with my RDA on it today. It's been quite a while since I've used the RDA. The Griffin performs good but it's no RDA.

I'm glad to see my other rx200 is still working fine as well

Trying something new here, 4 wrap 3mm 26/32g Clapton's at 80 Watts so I can actually get some battery life out of this thing
