As far as I know, all but the latest firmware revision of the IPVD2 do not have buck circuit which works in Wattage mode, so unless you have the latest firmware Rev 3.4 its probably dumping whatever your battery voltage is to your coils.
But it was working great. How do i tell if i have the FW you are talking about? Thanks And that looks like what it is doing.but was dong fine for a tank.

It shouldn't make it glow but the IPV doesn't have step down voltage (buck) in power mode. It's noticeable when running it that low to someone not used to higher watts. Your 7w would be like a 20w vape. However, it wouldn't make it glow.
It glows in under a second.........I am ...... right about now. at 7watts

ok I dont understand. cleaned all leads, still doing the same thing. Kbox not even glowing coils....ipvd2 red hot in much less than a second. I have been vaping from 2012 and have never seen anything like this and the fact is that if something is wrong i can always fix it. But right now i am clueless.
Seems like sometimes mods have a glitch in them! My first IPV4 (yes no s) freaked out and started doing some kind of variable Ohm thing and finally quit. And as the curious male primate I am I took it apart & broke the seal which ruined the warranty! If it' really new FIGHT THE URGE!

Sorry for your troubles man. If you need a back up to get you by, I can let you use my K-box mini.
Thank you but i do have a kbox but it wont do .2 ohms. I think i found my answer to the ipvd2. "The D2 won't output less voltage than the battery has available. It will amplify the voltage, but it won't "step down" the voltage. So it won't output less than roughly 3.5 - 4.2 depending on how charged up the battery is." I am still looking into this and trying to see if they changed this with what version i have. But I dont know how to tell what version I have. Anyone know how to tell what version a ipvd2 is? Thanks
