That's the same i have been thinking.I did a similar build in mine,26 gauge duals,8 wraps at 2.5mm,and i get that small bit of seepage so definitely going 3mm the next time,to get some extra wick stuffed in there.I agree,it is defintely a thirsty beast haha,this is the only rta i have,that i can actually see the juice level drop right in front of my eyes,it reminds me of when i take my old camaro out,and can see the gas gauge dropping haha.

This is how I've always wicked. No leaks or dry hits. Ever.

I am hoping for some wicking advice folks.... This is the first tank of about 30 I have tried that I am ready to give up on. I am single coil type of vapor and the flavor from this tank keeps me trying at least
Don't know if the issues are single coil related...It does seems to leak through the unused airflow hole.
My problem is not a straight flowing leak, but slow seepage. If I wick it to where it performs awesome juice will be coming out in a couple of hours. If I jam so much cotton in that it doesn't wick properly, it can sit without seeping.
I have read about the above post being referred to on wicking. For folks doing something similar, are you leaving the lengths of the wicks about like the middle pic before stuffing them into the juice holes? There HAS to be a sweet spot!
Have you considered switching to rayon? As to the leak, I do not know. I've never build it single coil, and don't intend to. I'm a dual coil kind of guy. But you might try jamming some cotton in behind the single coil dam. If it's leaking, and the other two channels are wicked properly, I'd think that's where it's coming from
Got my UD clapton in today (26/32) Did a 7 wrap on 3mm ID. 0.5. Hitting it at 48.8w. Rocking on a 200w SnowWolf. Finally starting to find the flavor this thing is capable of. Head is a little woozy too. Gonna change this out to a 5 wrap tomorrow and see how that works. My Serpent should be here in a day or so. Looking forward to that as well.

Place wicks in channels
Install chimney
CRAM wicks in juice holes
Trim wicks
IMO you don't have to cram your coil with cotton, just the juice channels!
I build with nickel so I can't put too much wick through my coils but I can stuff the full length of a Koh Gen Do in the channels! As a matter of fact the dual 28g 9 wrap on 3mm build I did today I didn't trim the wicks at all.
The flavor of this Rocky Patel cigar NET I made is tasting mighty nice in this thing on the Clapton coils. Yummmmmmmmmmmy!
I think you got it figured out already, but 50 Joules would be 50W on any non-yihi mod. TBH, I think they just did that to be different than evolv.
So that means my 120w IPV4s was only a 50w device in nickel mode? That's why my RX is so much better! That's why my MT worked better in power mode too? Things are starting to make sense now! My Subtank Mini is awesome in nickel mode on the IPV! Needs less power! That clicking noise you hear is another vaping lightbulb switching on!
Thanks for the challenging build Suprtrkr!! Parallel 28 ga isn't too easy. Thicker wire just lays down, but this stuff wants to cross and twist. I think I'm blind now from trying to see the tiny stuff!!! It seems to ramp fast like u said!! It's 8 wraps .28 ohms
Edit:: the back coil looks kinda lumpy in that pic, but it's smooth like it should be. Let's blame it on shadows!!

I've never done parallel 28g, I've done a lot of parallel 26g and 24g on mech mods back in the day and never had any trouble with it

I thought you meant .3 ohm parallel 28 ga, I got it to .28. Lol it ramps quick. 26 ga or bigger parallel is easy.. This was tough. Hopefully those 16 coils will make taste!!
