I know a lot of people are down on efest. They consistently overrate their batteries and it's a big issue. However, I have the blu6 and have not had any issues. I have not used my xtar 2bay since I got the blu6.
oh, no doubt they make good chargers. I own one myself, bought before I understood what they are. It's bad enough they over rate their batteries. This does endanger poorly informed vapers who believe their advertising, but that's at least half operator error. "Poorly informed" I said, and exactly that I meant; further, with the vast resources of this board available for free, this can not be blamed on Efest insofar as this lack of knowledge is contributory to safety compromise. Additionally, while their ratings are obviously bovine excretum, there usually is a moderately decent 20A battery hiding under all that advertising hype. For me, all that's a wash; indeed at least partly my fault by concatenation, as I spend a good part of every day preaching battery safety, yet accidents still happen.

That said, what I find intolerable about Efest is they way is the way they have treated @Mooch for daring to honestly evaluate their batteries under lab conditions and publish the results, for no other reason (apparently) than these results give the lie to their over inflated advertising claims. Mooch is a fully qualified EE with years of experience in battery power packs, and he busts his ....-- free of charge-- to make solid safety info available to vapers. The fact Efest doesn't like this is not material to me. Therefore I will neither buy nor recommend their products. Honesty compels me to admit I wish I had bought a blu6 before they got shirty with Mooch. It's a very nice charger and I wish I had one. But I didn't; and now I won't.

So do the 25r's hAve a higher amp limit? Iam buying some new batteries today and want to be as safe as possible, I never go above 80 watts and never build below .25. My 3 batteries in the running are vtc's (4 or 5's) the 25r's or the hg2's. Anyone care to push me in one direction?
the VTC4s have the highest safety factor of the batteries you mention. That said, any of them will do nicely for your application. 80 watts shouldn't overstress any of those batteries. The questiin is, is suspenders-and-belt safety worth a dollar and 400 mAh to you? FWIW, I bought LG HE2s for mine, and that's the first time I bought anything but VTC4s for anything.

I can understand that.

I didn't realize that had gone on with Mooch. He does a lot of great work for us vapers and it's awful that he's getting grief from efest. Makes me wish I'd opted for a 4 bay Xtar.

I haven't used the hg2 so really cant comment on real life performance. As stated I had read prelim reports that they get stressed at anything above the 20 amp rating so it would definitely be a battery to adhere to battery safety.

I run vtc4's from rtd in all 4 of my IPV's and my sig75tc. Those I obviously dont worry about stressing as much with the 30 amp limit.

The 25rs I'm running in the rx200. They have a continuous of 20 amp(same as hg2 and 500mah less then hg2). From what I've seen in reports and my own experiences with these they handle being stressed a little better then they probably should. While I dont run my rx constantly at 125w I have while messing with my mutation x v2. At 24.39 amps they werent warm at all. By no means am I claiming this is safe but I will say I dont worry as much running the 25r vs some others I've seen reports on.

Kidneypuncher and a few other sites have battery testing graphs and various things to check out too if you havent stumbled across those yet btw.

I agree with you on the battery deal with them. About a year ago I was one of those not so well informed people relying on the vape shop to guide me. While I didnt have any issues with over abusing my batts while using the efests I wont buy anymore of them either.

I do have 2 of the luc v4 chargers already and they have performed flawlessly for us so far. I havent really lokked into the nitecores in all honesty cause I'm pretty sure I remember something about them not fully charging the batteries. Guess I can look around at those again though.

no offense intended, of course. If people opt for Efest chargers, that is their affair and I don't give them grief about it. They are, honestly, very good chargers. But I know what side I'm on, and Efest is on the other team :)

I am running the HG2s. I haven't seen any stress at all, but I've never had mine over 80 watts so that might not mean much. 125w is too much for me. Smoking for 45 years is bad for you, in case nobody has mentioned this :)

There's nothing wrong with the Luc chargers, and no sense in not using them since you have them. But I do like Nitecores. I have a D4 and an I4. FWIW, my Fluke 87 confirms full charge the few times I have tested.

Ouch 3 times me there. I generally build between .2 and .3 but have gone as low as .14. Depending on the tank/dripper Im using im generally between 50 and 140w. Have tried 200w on the 3 and 3li but that is more then I can do heat wise. The build in my atty3 is a .22 and I pretty much stay @100w on that one with 1 airslot open.

I hav a Nitecore I2 & D4 That are working flawlessly for me! Charging 3 batts on the D4 is a little slow at 375mah at about 5 1/2 hours but it doesn't bother me!

That would drive me nuts I do believe. Wow on orbtronics lookin around...vtc4's for $5.99.
@Bman123 has the right of it: 750 each for 1-2, 375 for 3-4, and it makes a diff which slot you use. And at that price, time to stock up on VTC4s.

So what I've picked up so far as long as I'm using 20A named verified brand batts the only real choice is mah? see a couple of minutes of life or whatever aren't going to make that much difference to me! All I care most about is safety! That's why I bought an RX200 & LG HG2's! Running at 80w with a .35ohm TFV4 Clapton from what I understand from all the good info I've read in this forum in general I feell reasonably safe! Is this feeling correct?

Definitely safe, that coil should only pull 15 amps. I run a .13ohm dual Clapton in my troll on my rx200 with the LG hg2 batteries at 120 watts and don't worry about it at all and mine is at 30 amps.
