Yeah, I'm with u on the cloud chasing, it's not really my thing. I'm mainly wanting a better favor, and by better I mean denser & deeper flavor. I've noticed I get a really hard vape from my svd2. I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong in the settings or what but it's a much more harsh vape than my Zmax and mvp. I'm hoping the kayfun helps that. Im currently using it with nautilus or my aero tank mega. It doesn't matter what wattage either. I can put my svd2 on the exact same wattage and volts as my mvp with the same tank but it's so much harsher. Suggestions?

Different meters, like in mods, may not all be calibrated to the same point. There's a range to be "satisfied" to be considered acceptable for the intended use, and one may be at the bottom, another at the top..

Don't have the SVD2, so can't address anything specific to it.

The KF4 has many parts, so may not be the best choice for a first rebuildable. Maybe a KF2+ or similar. Easier learning curve, and a fine topper.

I just bought a Freakshow RDA. I'm using it on my MVP 20 watt and it's great. I never thought I'd want to get into rebuildables but this is great. The guy at the shop helped me build a 1.2 ohm coil and the flavor and overall vape is fantastic. You can pick these things up anywhere for about 30 bucks and they're authentic. I think it would work very well on your SVD and your hubby would be pleased with it. I almost forgot to mention, it's very easy to build on.

I'm wondering if that SVD has a setting to switch between Mean and RMS modes -- because what you described sounds like when I first got my Sigelei Zmax -- unbeknownst to be, the factory default setting was Mean mode, which is a great deal hotter than RMS mode, and I couldn't figure out why I was getting so many dry hits all of a sudden. Once I switched it to RMS mode, the wattage setting then roughly corresponded to the settings on my vv3s.

I was thinking the same AndriaD. I just got a zmax v5 also and the mean mode on it is the closest thing I can compare the vape on svd2 to. I've looked and can't find much in settings other than a lock and wattage adjusting. I've changed the coil out, switched toppers, tried different juices but nothing seems to change that harsh vape. It's a bit better with my nautilus but not by much. I've tried little air flow to wide open.

Paul, I'm glad to hear your getting a steady consistent vape on it. My zmax is a much lighter vape. Like night and day.

Then it might be the k4, which David Ock commented about -- apparently it's a lot trickier to set up and wick properly than previous models of kayfuns. Also, when I first got a kayfun, the first thing I noticed about it was what a great throat hit it provided, which for me was a great thing, but some don't like that TH tingle, they perceive it as harshness -- maybe that's the case? If so, then higher VG for whatever you vape in that might be helpful; possibly a higher-resistance coil also, to keep the temp down.

But, if it's doing that with everything you put on top of it, then maybe you just have to run the SVD at a lower setting than everythjing else; I have to run my Vamo at a much higher setting, because it has the opposite problem -- much lower-powered than my other mods. There really can be some pretty big differences in how diff mods interpret settings.

I've been wondering about dripping vs using a tank rba... how often do u hv to drip? Is it an "every hit u hv to drip ur juice in" type thing or could I use the liquid well for back up so that I'm not having to hv my e juice out all the time? I'd love to get into the rda's but having toddlers getting into everything in sight, I have avoided taking the leap. Sorry if this is a noob thing to ask lol

Not really an unusual question, I think it puzzles most of us before we get into RDAs. I have a Magma, which has a very deep well, but I still have to "refill" about every half-hour or so -- sometimes more frequently if I'm vaping a lot. If the RDA you get has a deep well, then it's not every hit by far, but it's still a lot more often than refilling any kind of tank -- which might indeed be a consideration with grabby toddlers around. :D Obviously RDAs that don't have a well need re-dripping a lot more frequently, maybe every-other hit. I keep my current bottle I'm using from sitting on my kitchen counter, no cap on it, because I have no younguns around, and I'm in here in the kitchen all the time; if I had little ones around, I'd probably just stick with tanks, since little ones take so much time in their own right.

I get about 10-15 pulls before I have to re drip. About as much as smoking a cigarette. That's with a single coil build. It has probably a 2 mm. deep well. You do have to be careful not to overfill it. Kind of a PITA but it's such a better vape. I haven't had any leaking issues so far.

Well I guess this no longer belongs in the VV 3 thread so......

Kind of sexy, flash photos are tough to show the Chromatic.

Still shaking her down but with a 1.1 coil and 13W it is giving a nice smooth vape. I strangely like the scepter feel in my hand.
No ego cone...?

Very nice! I agree, I like my Kayfun on my chameleon with a black driptip. Really looking forward to one of those chromatics though, I've seen some nice RBAs of various types in that rainbow finish.
