In fact, I mentioned to KD the other day that the CFIV is what I imagined when I first saw the SX Mini. As much as I liked the SX, it was much too large (for what I was looking for). The CFIV is perfect for me (in the "Topper mod" category). I don't think I could find a better fit for my preferences.

Hold both buttons for over a couple seconds to check the battery voltage and it flips it over. Since it is kind of small in that screen I have to squint my old eyes and it often takes to long and the screen flips.

Ohhhhhhh, yes - I never do that. I set it at the beginning, then left it. I go by the meter for my battery level (and can't see the screen a bit without my readers on anyway).

Very annoying 'feature', well the time it takes should be longer. The screen times out too quickly as well.

There are niggles with the CF4.

Screen is tiny, screen timeout is rapid, screen flip happens too quickly and should have a different button combination, the 510 is a couple of mm too shallow. All these things add up but still the best device in the C-frame category IMO, especially for the money.

Unless you're trying to flip the screen, in which case it takes too long. ;)

I'm kidding. Maybe a CFV enhancement?
3 seconds isn't an issue for flipping the screen to me, not like it's used often as few people are ambidextrous vapers and even if they are they generally vape with the same hand ;)

I wish the screen had to be locked to flip the screen, that way I could check voltage without worrying about the darn thing flipping on me.

I could also do with an 8 second screen timeout, 4 seconds is too short..probably only adds dozen puffs per charge in savings.

It's still a great device, my only real problem is the 510 depth...the rest is just personal preferences.

I have the same issue, it does take a while for my eyes to focus on such tiny digits. But if I hold it too long and it flips, I just do it again and flip it back. It would definitely be better if they'd made those digits larger, for such salient info as remaining charge, but I get why they have the screen-flip feature -- it's for the southpaws.

I'm a right-hander myself, but with the vv3s, I could always operate them one-handed *with my left hand* but if it was in my right, I had to use both hands. Pretty weird, because I'm not the least bit ambidextrous.

TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!!!!! Much too short of a display; I usually have to tap the fire btn 2-3 times so I can make sure of what I'm seeing; it would also be nice if the hit-timer would stay longer before going back to the default display. (it would also be nice if, when you tap it and it doesn't have an atomizer attached, it wouldn't give you that annoying 'check atomizer' msg)

These things were obviously designed by someone with PERFECT vision, whose eyes focus instantly, who needs to be told that there is no atomizer attached.

The Coolfire 4 is my favorite mod ever. I went ahead and ordered the Disruptor though because it just looks awesome. So 2 Coolfire 4s, an Evic VT, and a Disruptor. Then my crappy beat up isticks for work. If I buy another mod, it'll just be backup Coolfire 4s at this point if I find any awesome deals on them. I almost bought a third Coolfire4, but decided to give the Disruptor a shot. The size looks just fine for me, any bigger might be a bit too much for my pockets though. Here's to hoping for a Coolfire 4 + with a 3000 mah battery.

I have 2 Cool Fire IV's now and I do love them. I only wish there was a way to lock the Wattage or Voltage in. I carry several batteries around with me in a vape bag. Too many times, I've had the Wattage go up while carrying it around and then I get the nastiest burnt hit the next time I vape it. I am trying to train myself to turn the battery off before I put it in my vape bag for transporting around. That then requires turning the battery back on before vaping which isn't always easy especially while driving.

I have owned a MVP since day one V1 and am a huge fan but, I am really liking the ergo feel of the CFIV sooo much better. For some reason I was under the impresion that you also had Cool Fire and was hoping for a direct comparison. If it baisically feels and handles like the MVP and has the same battery life as the CF then I don't see a hole in my quiver for that arrow.
Well, I own one of each, so... The CFIV is smaller and lighter, while the Disrupter is similar in size and shape to the MVP 2/20W, although a little lighter. They have the same batter life... but, if you will be out longer than a full charge will carry you through, then you can bring a smaller InnokinCell battery with you instead of bringing two CFIVs. The Disrupter will fire up to 50W, while the CFIV does 40W. The display screen on the Disrupter is also larger than that of the CFIV. For you, Capt., I suspect that the CFIV will suit your needs more--unless/until a larger Disrupter battery is released.

The roles that the devices play for me:
CFIV: Will be my travel device when my dying vv3's finally kick the bucket (they have trouble lasting through a single Evod now, so that will be soon).
Disrupter: Will travel with me when I go on longer day trips.
MVP: My stay-at-home desk device.
SVD2: My backup device and the first thing I reach for if I hear an intruder breaking into my house.

You don't just 3-click it? I do - even if only in my pocket for a minute or two.

No, I am used to leaving my batteries on all the time except when charging.
Yeah me too. I've never turned off that bottom on/off switch since getting them either. I vape every 5-10 minutes, it'd be a hassle turning it off and on. I've never had the wattage move up or down in my pocket.

I'm lovin my Disrupter. The screen is large and battery slides off easy to change colors for a different look and that extra 10 watts just in case.

No, I really thought about getting the CF!V, but lately am only buying mods with external batteries. I want mods that will still work when the battery dies, just in case the gubmint goes really crazy on us. I probably wouldn't have bought the Disrupter, for that very reason, but I won it. And I'm really glad I did. I like it more every day.

But if ergonomics is the really important criteria, then I think you'll be a lot happier with the CFIV. The Discrupter has some improvements over the MVP's, though. It actually has a nice modern screen now that is big enough that I can actually read it without my glasses. And of course it has the removable batteries, which are actually as efficient as the MVP 20W batteries, though a lower mAh.

But we all choose mods for different reasons. I've kind of gotten away from liking the small, iStick like form factor in favor of something that feels more solid.
