My comment is waiting approval, but I didn't waste a lot of time on itr.

"Where do these reporters get these "experts"? Ms Dellacona is a nurse so I would suppose she is astute enough to be able to do a search and read the actual report rather than repeating year old "press release" information based loosely on what the report stated.

I smell an agenda here. "

"The ecig delivers the nicotine you crave without the tar, but there's one problem. They are not approved by the FDA and do not adhere to their guidelines." Says RN Dellacona. Chantix is approved by the FDA and adheres to its guidlines. Problem there is people tend to become suicidal while taking it.
Well that was my contribution.

Left this as my comment (In response to Delores C's post "Mrs. Dellacona stated the facts"):

Actually, Mrs. Dellacona stated very few verifiable facts. She repeated a lot of propaganda: "Carcinogens" said the FDA press release. Facts: Not all TSNAs are carcinogenic, and the quantity of TSNAs in the liquid of a high-nicotine cartridge (8 ng/ml) matches the amount contained in an FDA-approved nicotine patch. A pack of cigarettes has over 100,000 ng.
Propaganda: “Some of these products had components of antifreeze in them.” Using loaded words like “antifreeze” and exaggerating the quantity are classic propaganda techniques. Facts: Diethylene Glycol (DEG) is a tobacco humectant, The FDA found 1% in ONE of the cartridges tested. As a person with scientific training, Mrs. Dellacona should know the first rule of toxins: “The dose makes the poison.” A 150 pound person would need to consumer the contents of over 100,000 cartridges in a single day to be poisoned. Mrs. Dellacona claims that e-cigarettes must be being used by children because flavors are offered. In fact, Nicorette gum comes in Cinnamon Surge, White Ice, Fruit Chill, and Fresh Mint. I don’t hear her claiming that Nicorette gum is aimed at children.

I don't know how this will end. I hope the e-cig business does not have to go underground. However with my purchases the last two months, I will probably be vaping for the next two years needing only to buy rechargeable batteries. By that time, even if the e-cigs are initially banned, it will probably be repealed by the time I need something. It is sad that the law wold rather have people smoking rather than vaping.

Here's another article that showed up today with the very misleading title 'Electronic cigarette health hazards reported'. HeraldNet.com - Life: Electronic cigarette health hazards reported
I seriously thought the FDA may have received some serious adverse health complaints from people when I saw this. Of course, then it occurred to me that they could come out at anytime and report whatever they want, factual or not. Who the heck would be able to prove otherwise?

This is by far the laziest attempt to hide bias that I've seen yet. "In studies, health-related findings have been mixed, with some reporting less nicotine is absorbed and the desire to smoke is curtailed, while others showing smoking cravings weren’t affected that much." So now getting less nicotine is a "health-related finding" that is a breaking news "health hazard"?

Oh my.
