I'd like to revise my last post when i said "A "vacuum" is the only way to keep it flowing "consistently".

What i meant to say is "a respectable amount of negative pressure (sucking with a tight airflow) is the only way to keep it flowing "consistently".

I'm an idiot and i wasn't concentrating on what i was writing.

I saw your answer and agree. Heat is what it's all about. If it builds up too much for amount of wicking and /or air supplied, the process collapses. I try not to drain my tanks evan. I do, I really do. :D

Again as counterintuitive as this may seem (for a beginner) I've gone almost exclusively to very wide bore DT's…even as I sometimes still vape <20W from time to time. I find that by lip blocking the DT I can simulate tight draw on the fly as the device and conditions (or mood) requires it. It was like a revelation one day…why am I sticking to this monotone commitment to airflow. A/F rings are grand but often hard to adjust and more suitable to calibrating the center or what's favored for the atty. But for many of us lip blocking and sideslip came naturally smoking. And it just works. So tight draw, yep. Straw draw, nope. Somewhere in there tho.

Just to give some encouragement to the OP. It's a physical world. Things go badly. Observation is key. We try something else. Moving on sometimes is unavoidable.

Good luck. :)

I have similar issues and tend towards long drags, often gentle. What is needed is to constantly control the process, taste what it is doing, if it's getting dry hot and burny let go of the button. You can even keep vaping but back off the power 1/2 second and then press it again, or even time it to the puffing action (e.g. the "to" part of Mouth To Lung). When hitting from a tank, what I get is a progression from cool and wet, to ideal, to overhot, usually within 2-5 seconds. This is more identifiable and clear on some tanks than others, and surely this affects which tanks I have liked. I can't get as good a vape on unfamiliar equipment. The more times it's burnt a bit the easier it burns more.

The wide difference of voltage you and your husband are using seems too wide, try something higher if there is a delay before it starts producing vapor, less total heat could result. Going to a higher power style device with more vapor capacity may be what you need, but far underrunning a device also doesn't produce good results.

Flavoring is a big part of gunking, I've seen a small reduction of flavor strength result in a huge reduction of gunk, like there's a point above which flavor just builds up and roasts. Look into different ejuice, DIY, or simple dilution with unflavored (which is cheap!).

I mostly use a RDA now, which is better. Also temperature control which definitely could be of interest to you, but will require all new stuff.

Have you tried a tank on the lines of a baby beast. One that is supposed to be for direct to lung?? Second, how do you smoke, do you go from mouth to lung or direct to lung??

My other idea, when I switch flavors, which is about every couple of days, I take out the old coil, let hot water run over it for a few min, blow through both ends, set it aside to air dry, then put in the coil I had put off to the side for a couple of days to air dry. Rinse and repeat.

You may try changing out your mix. Go to a 70/30. Try and set up your machine so it best matches a cig, cause I also wonder, are you not getting the "cig feel" and blaming the taste as your reason not to vape?? Just a after thought.
I’m not sure if I ever responded to this, but definitely not! I wish my problem was that easy!! I’m not sure if you saw the pic I posted? I cannot get a coil to last me for more than a day anymore, and that’s with me sticking it out and dealing with the horrible taste for a while before changing the coil. My husband and I haven’t been getting along lately and he’s being a huge jerk about me going through coils too quickly. So as far as switching up, I thought that 50/50 was the most “cig-a-like” mixture there was? As long as I’ve been vaping, I don’t know much about it and I’m pretty ashamed to admit that. But it is true. I depended on the guys in the vape shop to set me up when I first started. I didn’t know anyone else who vaped and there was NEVER anyone in the shop, so they had plenty of time to help me. I guess now it’s more of a trend, and a lot of people have stopped smoking to vape. But either way, I vaped when it wasn’t really a thing, and everything was good. Now I wish I could pinpoint when I started having problems. But I can’t. It almost seems like it was when my hubby started but I’m sure that has nothing to do with it so I’m trying to think of what I might have changed or something that would have caused me to start having problems, but I just cannot remember. So I changed my coil the night before last, and I’ve slept a LOT since because of my brain injury, I’m having issues and I’m sleeping like so much. So I haven’t been vaping much since I sleep more than I’m awake. I’m gonna take a pic of my liquid. Idk what my coil looks like and I can’t really take it apart right now bc hubs sleeps on the weekends n doesn’t during the week n I have to be quiet as a mouse. But I’ll show you this disgusting stuff and a before pic. I just don’t understand and I’m so BEYOND frustrated with this whole thing!! Nothing against you guys, you guys are really awesome, but I don’t enjoy coming to the forum to chat about how my vape sucks. I got some money for my bday (it was a week ago today) but I need to deposit it into my acct so I can order a new tank. Several people have recommended the Innokin Zenith, I’m a MTL vaper, so I think I might give that a shot. I’m wondering if it’s my mod though. But maybe it’s the liquid like u said but why now? Why isn’t it happening with him? And why is it that this is one of few liquids I have found that is
Acetyl Propionyl-Free & Diacetyl-Free & I haven’t found many others that are. I have found a couple, but I really like how I can customize my flavor and my PG/VG ratio. Okay I thought I’d lost everything I wrote while I was trying to get pictures but most of it was here - whew - but I’m not gonna take that chance again. I’ll post then get the pics & come back. I’m having trouble getting it to show inside my coil. It’s pretty dark out today and I guess I’m just not having good luck or something. But I’ll try to get some shots n come back n post. Thank you all! You’re all super awesome!

So for whatever reason I cannot get a good shot of my coil. So here is the liquid in the bottle and then in my tank. I have hardly vaped bc I’ve been sleeping so much. Idk if this will help or anything but I’m trying to share with you guys as much as I can. I made a few videos but they are too large to upload (and probably wouldn’t even help anyway).. so here are the pics, which also probably won’t help, but it’s gonna be okay. If anyone gets any ideas go ahead and post, please.

The thing is, regardless of whether yours and your husbands devices are identically set up, if you are drawing at different strenghts, then even if you are switching devices it isn't going to change what keeps happening to your wick. You're clearly drawing differently to him.
Thank you for your comment. I’m sure we don’t draw exactly the same, but I’ve watched him and it’s not a big difference. Not even noticeable. So I don’t know how I could even measure that or figure out the difference? I highly doubt any two people draw the same. But it doesn’t make sense why I would have this issue so badly and him not have it at all with all the similarities...?

    Hi @kaiami

I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time with this. A couple of things crossed my mind while reading through this thread.

First, you've established that your draws are slightly different. How about WHEN and for HOW LONG he presses his button? Also, when does he draw in relation to when he presses the button?

Second, he vapes higher nicotine, so therefore is more satisfied with the shorter, faster draws. Seeing as NICOTINE isn't the problem with cigarettes, you could try his higher nicotine juice so that you can ease up on the AMOUNT of vaping required to satisfy.

Third, too LITTLE power or voltage can actually cause crud to accumulate on your coils. The juice doesn't get completely vapourised so it accumulates.
This would suggest that INCREASING your wattage/voltage, coupled with shorter draws, and higher nic juice might help keep your coils better for a little longer.

Hopefully something I said there might help. Keep trying.

Also, the Zenith is a FABULOUS tank. It's well worth the investment, and the coils last for WEEKS for me and many others.

Haha, Evan I just now noticed. Didn't mean to agree on the idiot part. That was me being one, miBad. Meant to agree on the first part. But I understood what everyone calls vacuum anyway.

    Good luck.
