Hi, I quit smoking for 10 years, then stupidly started again 3 months ago. It's as if I never stopped smoking! I am right back to a pack or more a day.

Where do I start with these e-cigarettes? I don't know which ones to buy. I want to stop smoking -- I got a cold two weeks ago and this cough just won't go away, and I know if is from smoking.

I want to buy e-cigarettes. I smoke menthols. Which one should I try?

Yes, I definitely like my Egos and Rivas. That is what I started with 15 months ago and haven't had a cig since.

Here are a couple of places to start looking:

E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings

Electronic Cigarette Supplies & Electronic Cigarette Refills for Name-Brand Electronic Cigarettes! E-Cigs from LiteCigUSA

Cignot ®

All are well respected retailers with excellent reputations for customer service. At Liberty-Flights, click on the 20% discount button before you start shopping.

For E-juice, I recommend FreedomSmokeUSA or www.vsvapor.net. Both offer samples or sampler packs. There are many others, but those are my two main go to juice suppliers.

Thanks so much for the answers!! A couple more questions if you don't mind answering.
I checked out Smokeless Image, they had a lot. None of these places really have much information, though, just supplies! It's confusing.

1. Which strength should I get? They seem to come in 4 different strengths.
2. How long do people use these for?

I would check out the E-Power 14650. It is an eGo type mod that uses non-proprietary batteries. The eGo is 3.4V. The E-Power and Riva are 3.7V. A 3.7V PV will allow you to use a greater array of attys/cartos like LR cartos which will give you a better throat hit and produce a warmer vapor.
Everything is replaceable on the E-Power also so it really keeps costs down. E-Power batteries cost $4 compared to eGo/Riva batteries that cost $14-20.

Read this about the E-Power :http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/standard-e-cigarette-reviews/233335-anyone-considering-buying-e-power-14650-read.html

This will give you some inf why you might like the E-Power more than an eGo/Riva.

It will also tell you where to get it for the best deal, (Crystal Clear Vaping)

With the kit youll get a FREE 5-pack of "Ressurector" Cartomizers, a FREE 30ml juice of your choice, and FREE shipping.
Put "ecf5off" in and your get 5% off the order.

Its a really great kit to get you started. The Ressurector cartomizers are incredible and are awesome on the E-Power and youll get to try them for free which is nice. Youll get 2 batteries with the kit, so youll be set. I normally get about a day and a half out of a battery before I need to put a fresh one in.

As far as your other questions, I recommend you get some 12mg and some 24mg jui
ce and see what works for you. You want to make sure your using a high enough nic content so you dont crave a cig.
Check out BlueMist Vapor. They have a HUGE selection and really cheap prices. They have sample packs and I recommend you get a few so you can try a bunch of different juices to see what you like. They have a bunch of menthol juices.

As far as how long people use these for thats tough to answer becuase its a wide range. Many people enjoy vaping so much that it becomes a hobby. Use it as long as you need to keep you off cigs.

Goodluck with it! and let me know if you have any more questions

If you want something slim, KR808D-1 is the strongest (Vapor4Life and a slightly different style at SmokelessImage, Bloogplanet, Halocigs G6). If you get a slim ecig I recommend MANUAL batteries - harder to damage or kill with juice leaks, easier to get a good hit. Like all good slim models these are thicker than cigarettes - about 9.2mm diameter and i recommend the standard/78mm batteries for a 120mm long ecig. Try cartos from both vapor4Life and the other 3 which have nice bottom coil cartos.

Buy eliquid - everything gets topped off with liquid. You can get 4-7 days use out of a cartomizer - I get 7+ out of those. I use a couple of Vapor4Life WOW juices, the SmokelessImage juices are also nice thin juices 80PG/20VG, I use some other juices that are PG with 20% or 10% VG. VG is thick so I don't want to much, but it does smooth the vape a bit and add nice vapor. VaporLife allows longer drags, the other 3 have a bit longer charge and a more sealed end on the manuals.

That's the easiest ecig. KR808D-1 manual, the most popular 2-piece slim model. On a manual battery for testing juices you can use a standard resistance DSE901 atomizer and drip tip (LiteCigUSA.net).

Welcome Sandybeach! I personally love my eGo-T but it really is personal preference and finding what is right for you! This forum is filled with great advice and reviews on different hardware as well as many many informative people who can give you much better advice than I can. ;) I was a 1 1/2ppd and I started off with 24mg but its a little to strong for me so I vape anywhere from 16mg to 19mg now and that does the trick for me but may not be right for you!

Definately going to have to experiment some to find what works for you.
Over the course of 25 years or so I weaned myself from Unfiltered to Ultra Light.
Thought I was doing pretty good til I discovered Vaping!
I Vape 18 mg from Smokeless Image which I have found works well for me when I casually vape through the day, but when things are slow at work and i find myself MadVaping I go home with my hands shaking. I am going to get some 12 mg so I can vape more heavily when I want to and hopefully get rid of the shakes.
I don't plan on quitting Vaping although someday it may happen.
Good luck!
Research, there is a lot to absorb here. Read Read Read
Experiment and you will find what fills your need.
Don't give up!

So I am thinking of ordering this, the JoyE 510 starter kit. Is there anything else you guys think I should get to go with it? JOYE 510 Stainless Steel Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit

Thanks again for all the suggestions!

The Joye 510 is a pretty decent starter PV. Just be aware that the batteries will only last a couple of hours before having to be recharged and you cannot use low resistance atomizers or cartos on these without damaging the batteries. For longer battery life and more options look at the eGo/Riva/ePower. They are slightly larger (more like a cigar) and not much more expensive.

I also highly recommned Liberty Flights. They carry different models, excellent prices, great customer service and quick shipping.

Good luck and happy vaping.

Is the Ego better than the Ego-T? Looking at Liberty Flights, now. Wow this is so confusing! My daughter just told me there is a guy at the mall who sells e-cigs.

Not better nor worse, just different. The eGo comes with "regular" cartomizers that use carts with pollyfill to hold the liquid. The eGo-T uses a tank in the cartridge to hold the liquid and a different atomizer. IMO the tanks are easier to fill and hold more liquid than the carts, but they are also more prone to leaking. You can't really go wrong with either. If you are like most of us you will probably try different atomizers and cartomizers to find your sweet spot. With an eGo/eGo-T kit you will have a lot of options to try once you get your feet wet.

Mall kiosks sell overpriced stuff. You can find the same or better stuff on-line a lot cheaper.

So many choices .. so little time. Ain't it fun
Of course how many brands of cigarettes did you have to choose from?

I strongly suggest one of the fat bats, like the eGo or Riva, over the slim bats for a starter kit. I also suggest that you stick to something that is 510 compatible because of the versatility.
This allows you to try a verity of different ways to vape without spending a fortune. But, one thing you can count on, there will always be something new and exciting to try next month.
