Hi, after smoking for more than 50 years I decided that enough was enough a couple of years ago, not so much a health issue as a price issue.

Started off with a simple eGo style pen which I used with various (and decreasing) nicotine levels. Had seen people with these interesting 'tank/mod' devices and decided to have a go at sub-Ohming. Brilliant, I now have several mods and tanks and an Aspire Zelos / Nautilus 2 setup which I tend to use in the car. Since that day nearly two years ago I haven't touched the 'pernicious weed' and have no desire to do so. I'm having too much fun experimenting with flavours.

Health wise, I can now taste and smell stuff (a mixed blessing at times) and I no longer struggle to run a Marathon. Seriously though, it's the best thing (nearly) I ever did and once I finish buying all the gear I'll be quids in. Trouble is I'm a bit of a gadget freak, I don't REALLY need more than one mod and tank, but, in the words of Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac ... Oh Well!!

I've been vaping a little over a year, never touch tobacco and I'm down to 3 mg nicotine. I got into coil building and making my own liquid, probably a hobby for me now. I mostly stay with different tobacco flavors and I've gone from nickel coils to SS coils, always using temp mode.
I lived in Hopkinton Ma where the Boston Marathon started.

Hi and welcome. The term used around here for this disease is "shinyitus." Diagnosis is simple: if you really don't need another mod/tank, but you buy it anyway because it is new and shiny... well, there you go. Don't let the word get around, but I am a chronic sufferer myself.

Hi all and thanks for your welcome.

Yes I guess I'm the same. I justify a new 'toy' with things like ... "Just in case something breaks down" or "You can't have enough batteries" or "What if I'm away from home and I can't find a vape shop". Still, I'm saving a lot more than I used to spend on tobacco even with the occasional spending spree. Next thing I suppose will be building my own coils and 'Sqonking', though I'm not sure I can be bothered with all that palaver.

Welcome, Bob B, and congrats to you for your vaping success! I will admit that I fall victim to shiny-itis from time to time, but I do think you need more than one mod... If only because if you purchase some now it may be cheaper, easier to get, and whatnot. That being said, you probably don't need hundreds of them, LOL. I will admit that if I adore a mod (Steampunk Nano, I am talking to you) I might buy a replacement, in case something happens to it. I mean... Nothing lasts forever? Maybe I am being overly pessimistic in my predictions.

Congrats on doing your own build, I want to start doing that soon! The more I look at stuff, I'm like, "Yes, Anna, you will be able to do this." I started with DIY juice, that was crazy easier than I thought, and now I have enough base products to vape for a LONG time to come. Actually, if anything, I probably overdid it, but eh. It doesn't compare to my cig habit over the years....

Congrats again and welcome to EFC! :)

Welcome to the forum. I just recently quit a 48 year 1.5+ pad smoking habit myself thanks to vaping. 30 days today and my 4th mod is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.:w00t: However it's another Smok GX2/4 to have as a backup so doesn't count. (different color though ;) )

Congrats & enjoy your new gear. I have Smoant Charon arriving this week. Think it will be my 11th mod over 3 years.
