Random comment of little value: Just saw one of these in my favorite B&M today and WOW the D2 is tiny!!! Smaller than an ipv mini or a sigelei 75 watt and it seemed like the performance was pretty good.

Are you guys having nickel coils getting funky real fast? I just built this yesterday and have vaped maybe 6 or 7ml thru it and its nasty already. Twisted 28 ni200 .07ohm if that makes any difference. Is anyone unlocking resistance and burning this stuff off?

The juices I run are notorious for gunking my sh#t UP fast. This is a Ti build with one day of a bakery cinnamon roll juice.

Well, Ive been using the same coil/wick for over 30 tank fills on a 4.5ml Orchid Dual coil with no flavor/vapor lose so.......................maybe it is the particular e-liquids in use and settings applied.

I hear sweet juices especially fruit and bakery flavors leave the most gunk behind. I do like s warm vape and I bet that's also a contributing factor.

I have some 304 SS WIRE on order. I don't see how the coil material determines Gunky-ness tho.

So, what are you running these coils on? What size Ti and how many wraps?
I have a STM v1 and find I can't get more than 4 spaced wraps of .28 in it.
That comes in higher than .3 so would prevent me from using this mod as I have no desire to go back to Ni. Too finicky for me.

i'm currently using a GG Tilemahos as my atty, and i have 9 wraps of 30 gauge Ti wire with an ID of 2.5mm. it comes up to right about .8 ohm... havent had any issues using this in TC.

Why indeed. "Sub-ohming" is a term introduced in the old days when VV/VW devices were not capable of producing high power output. Most devices in those days would max out at 6V, wouldn't allow resistances below 1.2 ohms, and would shut down if your exceeded 15W. You couldn't achieve high power output with those devices. Mechs, however, did not have these limitations. While you couldn't increase the voltage on your mech, you could build very low resistance coils, which allowed them to run at very high wattages (and therefore evaporate e-liquid at much higher rate). Hence, "sub-ohm" took on the meaning of "more powerful vape". This still applies to mechs. The lower the resistance, the more power output. The higher the resistance, the less power output (and weaker vape). Modern regulated devices have overcome the old limitations, and can easily match the power output of any mech at any resistance. So the term really has no meaning in today's regulated devices. Many people don't realize this.

Then why bother sub ohming other than the fact that we have to with nickel and ti unless you want 100 wraps. I used to run a nautilus on a mech mod and I clear so not true. I got a mech for the reliability and durability. I've heard that running high wattage at low ohms is better than running high watts on high ohm cuz you're at a lower voltage and it's a smoother vape. Correct me if I'm wrong. For instance why do they recommend running more watts on a lower ohm coil for the Atlantis or subtank? (I'm talking the numbers on the premades)

Otherwise why offer Higher resistance heads?
They also do not consider whether the tank will go on a Mechanical or Regulated mod.

Equipment variations dictate much toward total wattage used.
Low air Flow or Small coil/wick chambers need/require less power or bad things happen.
High Air flow big coil base tanks will Flood at low wattage from over saturation.
Unless you understand the build requirements nothing works right.

I vaped high voltage for a long long time. And I still do, one of my favorite mods is a Raptor I built myself. Nothing better than vaping on a Raptor or OKR at 5 or 6 volts. This was the norm when the term Mod became a word. Everyone vaped high voltage and it was awesome! It seems silly to me to run a regulated mod under 4 volts sometimes near 3 volts when I have 6.0 7.0 and 9.5v available from my mods I have in front of me right now! People dont get it. Your mod can crank out some serious high voltage, but somehow they want to vape at 3.5 volts lol (scratches head)

Doesn't running at that lower voltage save battery life or does it still use the same since the amperage would come out the same wouldn't it? I'm no electrician

Im was drippin some dyi caramel tobacco. I normally can get a few days on cotton with kanthal with it.
