Samsung and MXJO's end voltage is 2.5 volts.
Below 2.5 volts and the cells with have irreversible cell death, not allowing you to charge them.

3.5-3.6 resting voltage is the voltage you could consider "charge state". Meaning it is the best time to recharge the battery as the cell can no longer produce the 3.7 voltage rating of the battery. Regulated mods combat this by pulling more amps from the battery.

Truth be told, you might get longer performance from a battery by pulling it as soon as it goes below 3.7 volts. But by constantly pulling the battery at this voltage and using up a charge cycle ... you can also introduce increased resistance over time. Every single battery cell is slightly different and can react differently so there is no exact science.

Since batteries are relatively inexpensive, I choose to not pay much attention to this matter. I figure if I can get 9-12 months of life out of a battery I've received my moneys worth. My methods work for me, but someone else might feel different.

As long as you aren't going past a batteries end voltage rating (and allow some wiggle room) ... you should get enough use out of it before needing to replace it IMHO.

Thanks for the valuable input!

I thought about this mod but now I'm deciding against it. I already have an iPV 2S which works great vaping 30w to 35w but now that I'm getting into higher wattage with it, a single 18650 makes it useless for me when on the go. After this, I really don't see a point in higher wattage single battery mods if you hope to use the device to its potential.

Just got my mini 2 in mail. My 510 pin is slotted. I thought they went to a non slotted pin. I must've gotten a first run? I thought I had read that anyway...
It is slotted but don't touch it with a screwdriver! It's spring loaded. I have no idea why they chose to use a slotted pin but twisting it may cause internal damage!

Edit... maybe you know it's not adjusted with a screwdriver. I just typed above as quick as possible because I'd hate for someone to make a mistake because the IPV's pin is deceptive.

Yes, I had read that too. Just wondering if they did change it in later production. I must've gotten a bit older silver one from Vapenw. I'm ok with it.

User manual is more than a little limited. Tells me pretty much nothing.... Not even direction to insert battery. I'm pretty sure positive to 510 pin end (top). Right?

My first mod with replaceable battery....sorry

Yes + up on the batt! Also take great care putting on the end cap. I've found its best to push the batt all the way up with your hand/fingers. Then slowly start the threads, making sure not to cross thread it. I typically go in the opposite direction till I feel the threads, then I screw it on. The iPV mini II has a much more rounded bottom cap than the more heavily knurled mini 1, so go easy!

Hell yeah the instructions stink! iPV/Pioneer 4 U really need a native English speaker writing their manuals!

Yes, the slot is a carryover from the older sibling; the ipv mini 1, don't ever try to stick a screw driver to it. Personally, I wish they'd stop using the slots because with the limited manual I feel it's a recipe for disaster! The slot is probably used to aid assembly, as I'd think a flat topped 510 connector would make a marginally better electric connection than the slotted.

Thanks for confirming. My Samsung batteries didn't indicate polarity either....so it was all new to me. At least the Xtar charger had polarity marked LOL. Now I gotta go watch some YouTube to figure out the settings on this. I sense already the better power mgmt of this over the istick. I have small hands so the extra size will take some getting accustomed to.

What do you want to know about the settings? The 5 memory settings?

Yes, the 5 memory settings. I wasn't accustomed to it automatically defaulting to pre-sets when I dialed up or down. Watched a vid on it again last night to get the hang of it. So now I think that I have to get to my preset first....then dial wattage down FIRST in order to just adjust slightly from that preset. In other words, if you're on a preset memory setting and dial UP, it automatically goes up to the next preset, rather than just bumping up by .1W increment. Right?

I'll get this.... just haven't had much time to play with it....and more instructions would be nice.

I'm also clueless about PWM or DC-DC and the mobile charge feature (which I wouldn't ever use anyway).

I will say that so far this is a HUGE improvement from my istick 20w.....which I had been using continuously since Nov. The power and temperature of the vapor is consistent, smooth. I'm running normally at 16.5W with my 1.5 ohm coils, where on my istick I kept that at about 10.5W.

I actually think my istick was spiking voltage even more than what it used to..... scorching a lot of juice and now I'm convinced it was not all poor wicking on my part. This mini is SO much smoother, and I can run at almost double the wattage to produce the same temperature vape. (Or at least that's how it feels to me). I didn't expect this much of a step up for the $.

Just checked and VaporDNA has them in black only without the goat head-shows 'in stock' for now

Black iPV Mini 2 70 Watts Mod by Pioneer4you

That link is for the goat head version, their non goat head seems to be out of stock according to its listing. Thank you for the help though, appreciate it :)

I ordered one from eciggity with a 10 percent off code and free shipping. They are in hawaii so it will probably be a week or so, but hopefully soon. My istick gets here tomorrow so that should tie me over.

EDIT: Already Shipped! Sweet.

And I just now noticed that the black Mini v2 is 100% less tacky looking. Black is actually black, buttons are black, and the check for broccoli stuck in your teeth mirror display is now dark. Shame they couldn't murder out the battery cap too. And still can't figure out why it has a goat on it now.

The only explanations I can come up with to possibly explain the sudden goat head appearance is either, A.) they are trying to say that this mod is the Greatest Of All Time ie GOAT....
well that or, B.) they recently converted to the church of satan and wanted to show how proud they are to be devil worshipers now. The disturbing part is, I'm thinking that option B is the more likely and fitting explanation. Ya, I really want this mod, but the version without the goat head is sold out and I'm not down for that demon .... on my mod =\
Damn it (see what I did there? lol)

Anyone know a place with one of these in stock? I had to return mine for an exchange to VapeNW and was notified upon them receiving it, that they will not be getting any more.

Eciggity looks like they have one, But I haven't heard of them before.

They're a limited edition (with the goats head). You may have to settle for the plain version.
