Got the original mini in December. Just got the Mini 2 today. Thx for the PWM v. DC-DC info. The "instructions" that came with the Mini 2 were the same as my original :p The fire button seems "softer" on the 2 than on the original. I had a little trouble with the battery chamber - it seemed narrower than on my original. Battery slides right in on the original, but seemed like it was catching on something on the 2.

Haven't cranked it up yet, but very pleased with it. Vapenw now has them for $59.99.

Your Welcome.
With the battery out, Check the (2) pins that hole the Cattery cap Ring in the mod(threaded ring on bottom) One is probably a bit long and rubbing the battery as it is pushed in. One of mine is like that. A little filing would correct.(open to service)

Crxess, what is the difference, is it more accurate? Any improvements are good I would think.

This is NOT a v2.
It is a limited Edition 70w Mini
Only thing the same is the Case and 5 memory positions.
No PWM, NO Mobile Mode, +/- together Lock the mod
Noticeably more powerful at the mini 30w Max output.

This one is definitely for the person looking for a more powerful compact mod. Smaller and more powerful than an IPV2S.

Mini 30w - SX130 chip
Mini2 70w - SX330V2C Chip

Crxess, yes I know it is different than the 30 watt ipv, I was referring to the review I saw on the 330, just wondered what the difference between the 330 Busardo reviewed and the 330 that is in the 70 watt ipv is. You said they were different

If I am not mistaken, PB reviewed the original IPV 35 watt, Version 1 of the chip/board and possibly the IPV V2 50 watt second revision.
IPV V2S had the 3rd Rvision of this chipset 60 watts capable.
This is the 4th Revision to support 70 watts and is not even listed yet on YiHi product page. This is designated SX330V2C

YiHi may have it listed soon as they just listed the SX330V3C - the updated Chip for the IPV4

All available specs are here:

possibly a stuck firing button, but likely a chip issue. Maybe, if lucky, a chip lock up.
Pull the battery. Wait a few minutes then reinsert.
If it resets, give it a good run and see. If it fails again contact your vender for a DOA replacement. Tell them it has auto fired every time you touch the switch and you have to pull the battery to stop it. :)

I tried this yesterday and even after putting the battery back in, it kept auto firing, even when the mod is turned off. I did contact the vendor and they are replacing it for me. Thanks for the help!

You are not helping. IPV mini has NO MOBILE. Pressing -/+ together locks the Mod.

NOT the same Chip Version.

No PWM - Different Chip

Your Mini is the 30w?
They only look the same.

YES it's the mini, YES it does have a mobile function and YES it does switch from PMW to DC-DC. too lazy to find a link but their are reviews on YouTube that will say the same thing, I think rip has a review.

You do realize you are posting Original IPV mini information in the IPV MINI v2 THREAD don't you?

While I missed the (2) in my posting, in this thread the information I posted is Correct for the Mini(2) 70w device
I Own (2) IPV mini and (1) IPV mini(2) and know full well what features each has.
Thank you

I'm pretty sure that the ipv mini v2 utilizes the same chipset as the ipv2s, only difference being the mini v2 arrives with the 70 watt firmware update already installed.

Not sure what Build quality issue you mean?
Stripped cap threading is User error
Tilted 510 on a few - fairly simple to correct
I would think the biggest problem with the V1 is for users wishing to run at the Mods minimum spec due to the .1 lower reading. I also think several users are not keying in on resistance issues external to the mod. After working on a few of my Tanks I found Loose adjustable 510 pin issues, e--liquid soaked pins and a few other anomalies that all effect readings.
I have dropped mine from nearly 6' with no noticeable damage - well the 2 piece drip tip on the tank popped apart.

The SX330 chip is Killer nice and accurate.
The difference between the v1 and 2 at 30w is very noticeable and I have to say the more powerful v2 is the accurate one, matching my other mods at 30w.

No, I'm no fan boy - lol - I have so much junk it isn't funny. This is just one more device in my never ending Hobby.:D

Off to check on the location of my in transit Black Cloupor mini.............. will it fire or Catch on
how can you bring yourself to still buy cloupor's junk? I've washed my hands of them for the last time, never again lol

I got the IPV3 recently and love it, but a big to big & clunky for me to carry. I was going to get the Mini but glad I held off for the Mini2.. That thing looks like it will be my dream device!! Sleek, compact, and accurate 5-70watts in that little box - what more could you ask for at that price!?
:D
I'm really excited to get it but also waiting to see if I can grab it for $60 or less, got my IPV3 $97 shipped around thanksgiving.. These IPV's seem to be built rock solid, dead accurate in power and ohm readings, amazing performance and great looks - all around great mods!
i believe the range on the mini v2 is 7*-70 watts...

What's the difference? My ipv mini offers each of those options

pwm is a different form of power delivery, instead of a flat signal of the desired power you've set like DC-DC provides, PWM modulates the signal up and down in a wave until your desired power is reached, personally I despise PWM and am elated to know it's been taken out of the mini v2, which is one of the major reasons i snatched one up.
