So, just received my black ipv4. Before expanding upon my initial observations, I should probably disclose that throughout my shortish vaping career, I've been largely attracted to "high" end mods. My first mod was a ProVari and until this last purchase, I've been rocking a VaporFlask. Anyways, I'm pretty impressed with this guy. The paint job looks sick. I'm particularly surprised with the build quality. It's funny, having spent around $200+ for most of the mods in my collection, I'm usually excessively critical of build quality and chip function. With the IPV4, I can kinda just enjoy it.

Most importantly, and this could be attributed to initial excitement, but I'm pretty sure my IPV4 does temperature control smoother than my dna 40 devices.

I'm absolutely sure I prefer the temperature control of my IPV4 over my old Hana V4d.

It also looks like I'll have to deal with Asmodus for the 510 connector problem. It appears that Element Vape is not even going to respond to my email about the problem.

So I was looking at the Asmodus web site and it says you must "submit 3 forms" in order to receive service. What else do they need other than the receipt. Maybe it's there in black and white and I'm just too tired and ...... to see it.

On their site it says 1- receipt for item. 2- returns form filled out that you download from their site. 3- payment of $8.00 for return shipping costs. It also states that they have no replacement IPV4's at this time and that people should hold on to theirs until they receive replacement units. This part sucks. They also say a 2-3 week turnaround on unit repair or replacement.

man if i did not laugh i'd cry, how nice of them caring about their products and putting the customer first!

i wish the US Vendors would come to an arrangement w/these Chinese manufacturers to warranty the devices themselves...that way we could get some good ole fashion service...they have us by the short hairs as it stands.

the only thing i'm kinda meh about is the 510 connection... mine looks a little crooked/janky. works tho

Mine was "janky" for about 3 days...now the ONLY atty that will screw in, and it ain't easy, is the Subtank Plus. If I try to screw on any other, it hits the spring loaded part and springs out. Weirdest thing I've ever seen.

Things like this are why I install a 510 heat sink on my mods before using. It does not have a spring loaded 510 but it is adjustable. I never have to worry about threading issues.

Thanks for that tip. Do you mind my asking your source, style etc.????
I get them from Fasttech. They have a few different ones. Just go to the site and search 510 heatsink. Stick with the ones with decent reviews. Here's a picture of one on my IPV4.

yep those heat-sink adapters are awesome and they are 22mm to boot, not like the old air-flow adapters that are only like 19mm.

F.T. has a better price for sure but if you don't feel like waiting and don't mind paying a few bucks more

well shiver-me-timbers, got up from my old man nap and had an e-mail from V.R. and they want me to send it back to them and they will handle the warranty for me....so it might not be a total loss after all....i have to say i'm sorry i temporarily lost faith in VR, they are most definitely going the extra-mile for me here. :thumb:

now the wait, i should be good at this now :D

have you noticed whether the heat fins affect your connectivity in joules mode? that's the only concern I have, but yeah, that's one of those ideas that so simple and useful i would have never thought of it
Hard to say exactly. Ohms are usually always within a few hundreths, between what ohm meter says and what the mod says. That's close enough for me.

That's great Sando. I keep hoping that the boss at Element Vape is off this weekend and they'll at least respond to my inquiry. I've never had to deal with Asmodus, but I have the feeling it would try me already limited patience.

Again, a big thanks to you and HD for the heads up on the heat fin idea. I did order the the HCigar ones (see limited patience statement above). When I woke up from my old man nap, Desert Vapes had my shipping notice in my inbox!!

Got both of mine today. I got a black one and a black and silver. I definitely like the black one better. The display is 3 X's as bright as the black one. So far no issues. The only subjective con that I have found is that I can't flip the display. Other than that, I'm enjoying the mod.
