Pioneer 4 You has come out with another Box mod its the ipv4-S
Its a 120 watt device out of the box, Features Temp control for Titanium and Nickel.
Not sure on the Joules as of yet ,but will update when that info comes in. This updated ipv4 S is still a dual 18650 device ,but with some hardware changes and software changes aswell. No more 9 volt charger port they have completely removed it. Still has a micro usb port for linking to do software updates and a few various other refinements aswell.
Price should be around the same as the original iPV4. The current original iPV4 will be discontinued so Device will replace it.

Info on Mod Here or http://www.ecigaretteempire.com/IPV4-S-Box-Mod-pioneer4you-p/ipv4s.html

note: according to Pioneer4you the release date will be around July 10th

" Introducing the IPV4 S, the upgraded version of the IPV4 by Pioneer4You. P4U developed this product to fix the few issues on the IPV4 V1. it's already upgraded to 120W and compatible with (NI200 and TI ) as well. The IPV4S is structurally different than any IPVs they came out with. In comparison of the IPV4 and the IPV3, it comes close for having the identical size but the IPV4 is slimmer and has a new grip look to it. The grip on the IPV4 is almost rubbery looking. The unit is also less bulky and pointy like the IPV3. The IPV4 S has rounder corners and more sleek. You can also remove the grip to gain access towards the battery slots. The IPV4 S takes 2 18650 batteries which gives it more power. The max wattage on the unit is 120w starting at 0.1 ohm. It is powered by a new sx chip. (TBA). you can control your temperature heating. As like the other units in the IPV family, it will still have the memory function in 5 different types. The slide cover for the batteries is one of the newest addition towards the unit. The grip part of the unit can pop right off to access your batteries. The resistance on the IPV4 S is 0.10ohms to 3.0ohms "

So, if you already own one, you could just pull out the charging board and update the firmware... Then you have an IPV4 S.
Not sure bud I believe it will have a new chip also it will feature more joules and temp control for ni200 and ti kinda like how the iPV3 Li's v1.6 software does it. You select what type of coil you are using and then it does tc based on that algorithm.

Ah, didn't see that it's actually a different chip.

But still, the new firmware update for IPV4 is supposed to add Ti functionality and 120W, so if you already own one there's no real reason to buy this too... But if you've been eying up the IPV4, I would just wait for this one (Too bad that I just bought two within the past week but oh well).

It's poorly designed and made though.

Whether or not that was true -- It's still selling very well, so why would they just close down production on it?

I quite like mine. I considered the Li but I don't care for the boxy look and I imagine it's less comfortable to hold and not as pocket friendly... Aside from charging board insulation issues (which would be eliminated in this new model obviously), I don't see anything wrong with the design myself.

Agree completely. I love mine and everyone I know who actually owns one loves it as well. If some people don't want an IPV4 then that is their decision but it's very odd that they have to run around and trash a device they don't even own. I never used the 9 volt charge port and just plugged it up with a piece of rubber so that has never been an issue. The temp limiting mode works just fine. With the upgrade released yesterday it now goes to 120 watts and 100 Joules. I will have to try it with Titanium coils now but so far the nickel ones work fabulously at .07 ohms. The IPV4 is a great device despite Pioneer4you's poor communications.

It does, but its a separate charger that you need to buy. But the problem is the charging board has a tendency to short against the 510 pin. Most people remove the charging board. Its a matter of snipping 3 wires and insulating the ends of two. I ripped mine out the first day I got my IPV4. I prefer to just use the Nitecore charger I have to charge all my batteries.

Can anyone verify that the 4s doesn't have onboard charging. I just ordered one an several stores stated it did so I just ordered the charger

The IPV4S does NOT have onboard charging. That's one of the key differences between the IPV4 and the IPV4S. They removed the charging board and plugged the charging port. The USB port remains, but is only for firmware updates. You'll need to charge your batteries by removing them from the mod and using a regular charger.

Skip to the 9:00 point in the video. The reviewer takes the mod apart so you can see how the charging board has been removed from the 4S.
