Whatever you decide, get the measurements of the APVs you want to compare. Measurements can be hard to find or not available from some vendors. Battery size not considered, VV means extra length just to house the extra electronics and LED display. Space used for additional electronics on a VV rig can be used for a larger battery on a voltage regulated APV.
