I would think the E cig would be the exact same as a analog in terms of gaining losing weight.Nicotine is Nicotine.
I think your sense of smell has something to do with it. I've gained 7 pounds in the 4 months of vaping. I had kept my old weight for years. Now the food just tastes better.

I've even gained 10 pounds the first 6 months of vaping. That was definitely too much for me, so I had a tough time to lose at least 7. It must have been something else in those tobacco cigs that kept me from gaining weight.

I've lost weight since I started vaping. I'm not sure if it's from vaping or having been sick for a week.

I have noticed that I don't snack as much as I used to. When I started vaping I kind of had the attitude of "Man, I don't want to vape candy-... stuff. I'll do tobacco and coffee flavors." No tobacco flavors I've tried taste good, and I haven't found a coffee flavor that actually tastes like coffee to me. But the sweet stuff? I love it!

For anyone who hasn't lost weight, I do have some advice. Take advantage of your new lung capacity and try to fit some form of cardio into your daily life. Go for a half hour or an hour walk after work or dinner. Go biking with your kids. Add some weight training to build some lean muscle (muscles burn more calories just by being there.) You don't have to go out and buy fancy weights. Fill a half gallon or gallon milk jug with water and lift that.

Vaping alone may not make you lose weight, but it can help you lose weight by making your lungs more efficient compared to when your were smoking. Get out and put them to some good use.

I think I've actually lost weight, but I am craving weird foods that I don't normally eat very often. (Cheeseburgers and vanilla milk shakes!) For some reason, I haven't put on any weight. I'm surprised.

Mmmmm....that would be a great e-liquid flavor....
Cheezeburger and vanilla milk shake vape....sounds wonderful....can we have some french fry e-liquid too?

I quit smoking analogs the day I got my first kit - accidentally. This was after smoking 1 1/2 packs average for 42 years! My doctor had to take me off of two of my high blood pressure medications.

AND ... I've lost 17 pounds since Aug. 15th. I'm not snacking. The way I vape it would be redundant. All day long I alternate between 6 to 10 PV's - each with a different mouth-watering flavor. Why on earth would I need to snack when I can have guilt-free caramels, strawberry pie, pina coladas, vanilla cotton candy, grape bubblegum, french toast, graham crackers, mint chocolate chip, or luscious sweet pears? I don't get flavor burnout because of the way I alternate. Another factor may be my heightened water consumption. Never did like water before.

I've leveled out to a point where I'm losing a pound per week on the average. Works for me!
