I've only been exclusively vaping for 2 weeks now with no analogs..I will get back to you in a couple weeks with an update..So far, Im the same wieght as before..

I only vape 6pm-10pm ..Im a night vapor ..Nothing at ALL during the day..wierd huh?

How in the world do you vape only 6-10pm and not smoke any analogs during the day? At least you haven't supplemented with extra snacks.....that is really awesome! I am pretty sure that if it were me, I would have gained the 10lbs instead.

Do keep us posted......:)

I have been losing a little weight because I vape instead of snacking. I haven't lost a lot and I am not sure how much but my clothes are a little looser. I was wondering if any one else experienced this wonderful side effect.

Oh how I wish! I am not eating any more than I did before, but I am pushing the higher numbers on the scale! DAM!

I'm with ya! I don't think its from vaping instead of eating though-- I think its because I can actually breath enough to get up and go for a walk :)

Or maybe I'm just burning extra calories from scrubbing-- I've noticed smells around the house that I've never noticed before..

Oh - you mean I have to get up off my rump and walk???

Sorry - I can't. I am too busy looking for new goodies on the net, reading and posting on the forum, charging batteries, cleaning attys and the little white carts!

Yikes. Today I weighed myself, and I'm all time high at 185....

Well, when I was a smoker, I had to get up and go downstairs and go outside to have a smoke, but now, I just walk to the next empty storage room with a nice view outside looking down Lincoln Center... so I'm definitely getting less body movements, I guess. ;)

Must lose some weight....!!! (I'm 5-9 and 185... I look and feel the best when I was around 165... 20 lbs to go.. :()

No! :(

Maybe if I stop vaping chocolate I might get that side effect? What flavor do you vape? :D

I vape Marlboro 24mg, peaches 'n' cream (so yummy) 18mg, and mandarin 'n' cream (also very yummy) 18mg.

I tried the chocolate / mocha mix and I don't like it ~ it is a little too dark and heavy a flavor for me. :)

Well to look at it from a scientic point of view: there have been lots of studies which linked smokers to increased metabolic rates. I was always skinny and still eating junk food occasionally with no problems. After I stopped, I noticed I was gaining weight plus I did start eating more during the first week but afterwards when I returned to my normal eating habits I found it harder to actually burn off the calories even while regulary vaping and trying to substitute vaping for snacking urges.

You can also look it from a different point of view (which would seem logical maybe in your case): now that you're vaping instead and can probably vape everywhere you weren't able to smoke, you've actually replaced it as a substitute for more habits of yours than simply snack urges, smoking, etc.

While those studies have only been able to correlate metabolic activites directly to the chemicals in cigarettes there is always the "psychological" factor that plays a huge factor in most of these things and that is hard to base studies on.

Also, my theory lol, I used to reward myself with cigarettes...."once I get done cleaning out this closet, Ill go have a smoke." So, I think I did things just to egt the cigarette lol- and eating always prompted a ciggy break. Always. So maybe I ate to go get to smoke..and now I dont have to go anywhere to get my fix so I dont eat.

Pete, since nicotine is an appetite despressant, it's seems normal that you would lose weight. I know one of the complaints when people quit smoking is they gain weight.

In 35 years of smoking my appetite has never been depressed. It's always been quite chipper.
Too
stinkin' chipper, in fact. I wish it would get really bummed out and stop talking to me.

I noticed a drop of about half a stone during my first couple of months vaping. I've mostly put it on again now, but then I usually gain weight around this time of year - still eating winter food and it's not as cold, time to switch to a summer diet. So on balance, yeah, I lost weight. My BMI is around 22, so I'm not all that bothered about half a stone either way.

Nicotine doesn't just suppress appetite, it also enhances the activity of a gene that helps break down body fat.

(Note: I can't post links yet, so replace hhh with w's)

On a side note, I just got my first e-cigarette today. It's pretty amazing, I have to say. The cleanliness of the vapor is what hooked me. It is soooo smooth and clean, like you're inhaling a cool refreshing mountain stream (btw I got mint flavored, so maybe that's why I think this). And NO SMELL! It's so liberating to smoke anywhere/anytime, without anybody even realising.

The only downside is they run out of liquid fast! The prefilled carts are a total waste of money. I'll be filling my own with Totaly-Wicked E-Liquid I think...

Btw, I've lost half a pound today, if that counts ;)
