Is anyone interested on a 3.7V Passthrough...

... or is it just me?

I love the vapor that comes from the 5V, but it burns carts SO MUCH faster than regular batteries. Since vapor is the lowest thing on my priority list, I'd prefer to sacrifice that for longevity.

...While we're at it, I'd like a retractable cord too...

To tell you the truth, I would be interested in a 3.7 PT. I rarely use my PT anymore - and I used to love it. I do agree that it seems to burn through carts quicker (obviously), but it does make the vape hotter and - my problem with the PT - is it seems to change the flavor way too much! I don't care about vapor so much either, not that I've found the PT to be any better or any worse on vapor (a lot of vapor seems to depend on the cart construction itself, and the type of e-liquid being used. Some flavors simply have more vapor production than others.) I think the new shorties seem to have the best vapor production - I love them, and I am not a fan of autos...lol!
The only time I really used my PT was to break in a newly filled cart to burn off some excess liquid in the cart, but now that I refill with a syringe instead of dropping, I overfill carts very rarely now.
Perhaps having a PT with a 5v and a 3.7v setting would be the perfect solution. But only Leaford could tell you if that type of mod would be feasable on the PT or not (if anyone else would even want that mod...)

i may be mistaken but i thought the term Pass Though refers to exactly wht id does: passes the current through. so because your PC puts out 5V thats what you get. in order to get 3.7V you would need an output of 3.7V, unless you have some sort of Voltage down step (not sure the term) also not sure, but im pretty sure all PC's have a ground inside the USB and protection against failures

You are probably right, idk.

I just hate to think of frying my computer because of a $15.00 pt

I thought I read here somewhere that it could fry the motherboard.
Maybe someone with more knowledge of computers could help us out here.

MadVapes has 3.7 volt PT's, good prices too with $2 shipping.

Those are for the 510 and we're all using the Vapor4Life KR8. ;)

The only 3.7v PTs I've seen are the 510-type that use a small 3.7v battery in-line with the PT. You can't use it until that battery has time to charge and they are VERY prone to failure.

Check out the 510 forum and you'll see lots of posts about failed PTs. At least, there were when I was using the 510. Since I don't any more, I haven't been there for a while. :)

I use my V4L pass through at home on the computer and it does work well for starting cartomizers - particularly if I have slightly overfilled. I use a 510 pass through (with an inline battery) and adapter while I drive (thus eliminating the need for a high power car adapter.) I would love to have an actual 3.7 V Kr8 pass through but I think it would have to have an inline battery like the 510 type. I'm one of those who prefers the 3.7 V flavor also.

;)

I went on ebay a bought a usb adapter that plugs into the wall outlet it was around 5.00 is all and for convenience I plugged my usb router into that so it would reach where I sit. I haven't used anything but my passthrough. No problems I get better vapor than those batteries.
Definitely like the pic of the tomahawk!

Well If you like the way a freshly charged 3.7V battery vapes, on most PV's that means about 4.2V, not 3.7V. I assumed everyone likes their vaping straight off the charger.

Simply supplying 5V to an atty is only part of the equation. Current (AMPS) and the atties resistance (ohms) comes into play.

5V @ 1000mA (1A) to a Joye 510 atty (2.3 ohms) will only give you 2.3V... no good. 1600mA would give you 3.7V and 1800mA (1.8A) would give you 4.2V.

Now a DSE 801 atty is about 3.6 ohms. Using the same 1000mA (1A) to it will give you 3.6V... vapeable.

You could turn a 5v PT into a 3.7v PT with just a couple components. At the heart would be something like: Electronic Components & Supplies

And a resistor or two, maybe a filter cap or two and a diode if you wanna be .... about it. ;) Well under $5. Total beginner project. Cut the wire and splice your device into the middle. Don't even need to open up the PT.

Hi everyone. I Just got my V4L ultimate ultimatum kit. I got a manual passthough i asked for instead of a XL batt. I first plugged in straight into my computer USB port. I was like hmmmm 8-o to much to strong. But luckily i also purchased an USB 4 port hub from ebay. So i plugged in my passthough into the hub and what do you know it reduced the power and it vaped just a little stronger then a battery. I was SOOOOOO happy . If any of you are interested go on ebay and search Aluminiuem Slim Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4 Port HUB for Laptop its $5.99 free shipping. Sorry i can't post the link still new to the forums. And no i am not the seller :p. I was just lucky enough to have bought the right things to make it happen. Oh i don't recommend chagering and using the passthough on the hub at same time. Charging would take alot longer. Cuz everything you use the passthough u can see the like on the PCC charger flicker off. Hope this tip works for everyone if they want to lower the power of the passthrough.:) Happy vaping and a healthier life.
