Not too bad. I have a number of cheap mods that use standard industrial protected Lithium Ion or AW IMR batteries and chargers same as flashlight enthusiasts use. I have worked my nicotine level down to a low level. I have a bunch of DIY eliquid stuff and some nicotine (probably going bad from sitting) already. My main need would be blank cartomizers and some kind of skill in making liquids I actually like haha.

Hi, BobbyDidge, and welcome to ECF!

FWIW, that question is probably not the best one to ask on a public internet forum, which can be mined for data by gubbmint minions.

That being said, and after long experience watching the gubbmint follies over many years, my guess is that it's a better than even bet that right now is the Golden Age of Vaping, as far as selection and prices are concerned.

Scared of it being banned or taxed? No. I don't think people would LET that happen again. Not to something that helps so many people. I like to think we'd all fight it (like we already are).

As for it blowing up, use a safe mod with built in protection, only AW batteries, a good charger, and be smart and respectful to the mod and you will be safe.

If you're smart with your batteries and make sure you use them with respect (just like any number of tools out there that are known to chop appendages off, etc.) you really shouldn't have much to worry about with explosions.

I'm assuming you're using either a cig look-alike or an eGo type battery, and there is very little risk from these. They both have protection circuits, and just about the biggest risk you have with them is overcharging. Just make sure you're close by while they're on the charger, and when the indicator says they're charged make sure to take them off. If you get into the bigger mods with removable batteries, I suggest you do some reading on proper handling and charging of the batteries. They're only as dangerous as you allow them to be, and as long as you use them with respect and keep them and your mod maintained you really shouldn't have anything blow up in your face.

And yeah, I'm concerned that federal regulation will screw us over on availability of products, liquids mainly.

Ohz noes! Gubmint big brother... watching?? I'm headed for the shelter!

The question IS: When will we be regulated and to what extent? It's going to be a while before they can regulate online sales. Ever bought something from eBay? Did you pay any tax? Ever bought anything online? Ever paid sales tax?

Ban? I think not, at least I'm surely skeptical if it's possible. I'm not very woriied.

I pay my state sales tax for online purchases every year. You heard it right, I tally up my online purchases and willingly give Idaho the $0.06 on every dollar that I owe them.

yea I have an Ego-C battery :) it says though that you cannot charge their battery on their website, is that not true? Sometimes I leave mine overnight. I heard the whole over changing thing is a scam if it has over charge protection they just use it for phone companies so they dont have to replace your phone!
Overcharge protection can and does fail. There have been a handful of reports of eGo type batteries turning into bottle-rockets while sitting on the charger on these forums. Power spikes, incompatible chargers, protection failures...sometimes it happens. Take your batteries off as soon as they're showing a full charge.

I'm not quite as gung-ho on the charging sack thing or the charging surface as Roly is in that post, but I'm not leaving my batteries unattended either.

Nah, I ain't sceerd. A coworker asked me if I was afraid to vape because of the guy who blew up half his face. I replied, "Absolutely not. That would be like being afraid to drive after reading about some kid who decided to soup up his Honda Civic and ends up crashing it." I then went on to tell her that the guy was using an unsafe modified pv (even though I wasn't sure if that was, in fact, what happened). Then I added, "Besides, do you know how many people lose their tongue, jaw, etc. due to smoking real cigarettes?! One guy loses part of his face and everyone buys into the media hype. Sheesh!"

Anyway, it shut her up.

Being scared is one thing, and trying to do something about it is another...

Hopefully everybody that can afford to do so is donating to the We Are Vapers documentary project.
In order to win this fight we are going to need to win over the public, and this documentary is the best way to do so.

Well, it's the best way to do so given our limited resources compared to those who want to eliminate us.

All proceeds, if there are any, go to CASAA so that makes it a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned.
It's just like donating to CASAA, only better!!
:)

Well since the devices are also used for dieting, they're going to be hard to ban. Look at all the bongs that are available. We all know they're only used for tobacco, right? That leaves the juice and they can get us there. If you DIY, all of the ingredients except the nic are used for other purposes. I have a 2 year supply of nic and if it had a longer shelf life, I'd have more but, I'm not worried about a ban or a tax. :)
