Is anything as pocket-safe as a carto with filler?

I use my eGo 1100 with a mini vivi nova and it rides in my back pocket REMEMBER to turn it off though. I do take it out when I sit but I had to take out my 808's when I sat too. The mini vivi is about the same diameter to the eGo so there is no 'lip' to get caught on anything if you have the collar on the eGo threading.

I've used mini vivi novas, Kanger T3s and those HUGE smok dual coils with no leaks at all. I always keep one on a eGo C twist in my pocket. I do take it out when I sit down. The only time I've had one leak is when my son jumped on it and stripped the threads of a plastic vivi nova. I doubt the metal ones would have done that. I also keep a little zipper pouch with 5 extras in it. They are not all facing the same way and are upside down all the time but never leak a drop.

Been vaping for just a couple of weeks now, with cig-style KR808-D1s. I think I'd like to step up to using a clearo or something similar, instead of dealing with low-capacity cartomizers that give no indication of how much juice they have left. Considering CE3s, T3s on a bigger battery, or the SI X2 clearo on their bigger X2 battery. I'm open to switching to eGo format if there's a compelling reason.

But my question and major concern is, after reading so many threads indicating fragility and occasional leakage with almost every configuration, is there any option other than batting-filled cartomizers for being confident when keeping my rig in my front pants pocket on day to day basis? I'm just not willing to deal with leaks when I'm on the job or out and about.

I'm starting to think my best bet is to get some sort of clearomizer solution to use at home, but stick with the carts whenever I leave the house. Is my concern justified, or am I just being paranoid?

Thanks for your thoughts!
First of all it’s great to see you here Plaz. I was really surprised when you PM’d me with the friend request. It’s great to see an ‘ol friend that I enjoyed discussing things with over the years. If you’re still on that other forum say hi to everybody.

It’s also great to see that you’ve taken up vaping. I smoked for over 30 years, and this it the first thing that has enabled me to quit. I’ve been off the analogs for almost a year now.

Here’s my thoughts. All the items you mentioned are good. Which one is for you depends on what pocket you’re carrying it in. In the Summer, I don’t normally go around with jackets, or wear shirts with pockets, so my PV goes into my pants pocket. For that the CE3’s and Nano’s are great. No worry about leakage, and I carry a couple of extra CE3’s to change off flavors or to have on hand.

For winter, I have shirt pockets as well as jacket pockets. I love the T3’s and the new EVOD (a smaller and updated T3 like device). I’ve never had one leak, but they feel bulky in my pants pocket.

Between CE3 and Nano, I prefer the CE3 because it’s more easily cleanable, and IMO offers more true flavor as there is no filler. Some have had problems with either one, but there’s a new version of the CE3 coming out in the next few weeks that look promising.

The SI Volt products are good quality, and they’re good people to deal with. I use them mostly for their 78mm batteries. With a CE3 or Nano stuck on it they are perfect for sticking one or two in your pants pocket.

Fabulous insight everyone, I really appreciate it.

As I mentioned eariler, I've ordered a couple of X2s and T3s. My guess is you're spot on, harp, in that they'll be perfectly fine for carrying around in the cooler months when I have a jacket. I've also ordered a 5-pack of CE3s to use with my Volt 78mm 808 batts. My thinking in ordering them was to use them for easy varied juice tasting (still trying to find my handful of "go-to" flavors). But if you're right that leaking is not a concern with them, I'll probably use them in the summer with the smaller batts as a more convenient low-profile portable solution.

This forum is really really great, with a super community. I'm very pleased to have found it, and hope to eventually be able to contribute as much as I've learned!

Thanks again everyone.
