Is it worth paying for a guarantee?

Is it worth paying for a guarantee?

  • Guarantees are worth it

  • Guarantees are not worth it

  • I don't think either is a better or worse option

"stop asking daft question kate.." I know Trog but it was worth a try  Ismoke is a retailer and was quoting law so I just thought I'd see if s/he knew anything we didn't. How do they justify such long guarantees when the failure rate is so high? Why do they imply that these things are durable?

We're all individuals with our own experiences and ways of doing things. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer to a lot of the consumer questions we have. It's different strokes for different folks. That's why it's important for many opinions to be given so people can make decisions based on their own criteria.

I started off thinking brand devices weren't worth it but now, for me, the maths and quality make it a better option. It's not the same for everybody for various reasons.

Exemplary customer service with fast turn around for defective parts paired with a great understanding of the products provided and quick turn around for support tickets...

could you really put a value on that?

If that's provided then sign me up! I would gladly pay more if all of this was included... especially as a "noob" to e smoking as I am ... a guarantee and a company that stands by it is something I looked for when researching my purchasing options and sways me in my recommendations to friends and family. Heavy presence of the suppliers on this site helps out alot as well.

I know, sorry Ned.

Just try to let it go over your head, it's just one of those things with forums, people don't always agree and get on. It's not a big deal to sort grievances in the open and it's better than letting annoyances fester.

Left alone most arguments between two parties usually blow over without too much collateral damage.

Weezy, there are some highly recommended suppliers on this forum who provide the things you list, you have to read around a bit to get an idea of who is reliable. What isn't reliable is the hardware, wherever you get it from.

Kate it's just I get these strange thoughts sometimes perhaps one day some of us forum members have a get-together one night and I can just imagine the scene where popular forum members are introduced on stage so everybody can see who they've been talking to for the first time in the flesh then you and trog come on together singing the song from Olivia and John doing you're the one that I want

Oh, oh, oh honey ... the one that I want ...

Would I be Olivia or John? ;)

It's probably best if Trog and I maintain a respectful distance in real life. At least on the intertubez we can switch each other off.

bugger me kate i was beginning to think we wuz actually managing to establish some king of intelligent dialogue between us.. allowing for space garbage and intergalactic interference and such we aint doing too badly.. he he

i must be vaguely right cos u dont go for my throat with quite the ferocity u used to do.. he he he

In his dreams.

a true story this.. but back in the pre 911 days the amercians actually liked me.. this was a forum thing.. a flight slim gaming forum..

they even paid my air fare (and my youngest offspring) over to america so as they could meet me for real.. i organized a convention for em..

we met one guy in a bar for the first time in the flesh so to speak.. he came from new yorke and his name was mike.. i looked at him and said u look like a new yorker.. he looked at me and said u look like a movie star..

i also met one huge backwoods type guy and his two huge sons.. the guy looked like Kris Kristofferson with a big beard.. the day we left just as we were getting in the car.. he caught my eye.. walked over and shook my hand and said.. "you are the man".. an unforgettable and moving moment i will never forget..

me and my young sprog had drank the lot of them under the table the night before.. their Budweiser is like cat piss compared to english bitter.. he he he

a true story.. back then i did look like movie star.. now at 63 and nine years later i just look old and wrinkled.. i also dont give a f-ck.. he he he

"... back in the pre 911 days the amercians actually liked me.."

What's changed between then and now?

dunno but when i saw that airplane hit the building i said the world has now changed.. it did change..

i just kinda lost touch with em after that.. lets say my view of why such a thing could happen to em and their inability to believe as to why somebody would want to do such a thing to them put us on different planets..

a couple i would call close friends still post on the cave occasionally.. it was an interesting time period in my life thow.. it taught me a virtual community could be very "real"..
