Is my AVA HR a dud?

I purchased an AVA HR atomizer last week and it hasn't gone too well so far. I was told it took a long break in time, but I feel like I've given it plenty of time to perform. I estimate I have dripped ~5ML through it on my Zmax, Lavatube and Ego twist and nothing makes it hit right. I drop 5-6 drops in it before I go to bed everynight to make sure those ceramics are fully saturated and ready to go for the next day.

It keeps burning, even though it's got plenty of juice and is very finicky based on the pull of air through it. Extremely inconsistant and produces 1/4 of the vapor my others setups make. The burn is a fairly strong aftertaste, but not like a regular atomizer. To add insult to injury, I currently received an Ikenvape 510 2.5ohm Cannon V2 and it is incredible. It just makes my AVA look that much worse.

Have you guys had any troubles with the AVA, or have any tips, tricks? I've watched the videos on the website and my atomizer works nothing like the one in the video that he primes and breaks in.

Where you least expect it....
Never used that atomizer but, check to see if the ohms is matching up with the voltage your using it at. If your using too high of a voltage then it will consistently taste burnt.

In addition, 5-6 drops is only good when you first prime it. After you've done that then all you need is 2 drops every 5-8 drags. Probably explains the lack of vapor since your atomizer is flooded.

The Ava HR is a high resistance piece correctly showing 4ohms in my zmax. It going to be tough to feed it too much voltage on anything but the zmax, which I haven't done so far. I always blow it out before I use it when left full overnight, and then redrip as needed just like everything else 2-3 drops. Every several pulls it will hit pretty decent (clean flavor, but lacking vapor) the next one will be beyond terrible.

I don't own an AVA, but I have heard several people complaining about them not working right no matter what they do. And for how ridiculously expensive they are I would be really PO'd, which is why I have avoided them.

I'm beginning to think the same way. I walked into the store wanting to buy an HH and they talked me into this thing?!

Well, I have an update on this. I've still been trying this every few days on different devices and last night this thing came to life. It made a weird audible pop and vaping goodness has been achieved. 3 drops gets me 3 long drags and it is performing great on 9W on my Ego VW. If you have one of these things don't give up on breaking it in.
