I switched to TC because I got a couple dry hits, and I wanted to see what all the hype was about, and then I got a dry hit on TC, so I switched back to Wattage

I really don't get the people who insist TC is more work or more complicated compared to VW mode![]()
step 1: wrap and install coil
step 2: wick & fill tank or drip
step 3: set max wattage appropriate to your build and work up the temp till you find your sweet spot like you would set the wattage in VW mode (you'll know these values by heart soon enough once you start using it), and voila, you're done.
What's so different in this process from using VW mode?
To me there are no downsides, only benefits, and a much more ejoyable, smoother vape to boot.
You guys are missing out.
maybe you'll learn to wick better, because thats where your fault was most likely, tc never said it was going to cure bad building....I switched to TC because I got a couple dry hits, and I wanted to see what all the hype was about, and then I got a dry hit on TC, so I switched back to WattageMic Drop

It is more work..like having to use escribe, setting temp, and use a TC wire for starters..I've tried TC and I get a better vape with watt mode in a simple build with Kanthel or Nichrome...I know when it's time to re-drip with a RDA without my mod telling me..been drippig for years on mechs without TC..I know what I'm doing...Exactly, how exactly is it more work?
Lets see....
I used to wrap 7/8 wraps of kanthal on 3mm for about 1.1 ohms in my Lemo 2
Now i wrap 7/8 wraps of 316L SS on 3mm for about 0.6 ohms in my Lemo 2
I used to set my watts in vw to 18 and go up and down, up and down, up and down to find the right spot
Now i set my max watts to 50w (its so hard to press the up button) as a ceiling and NEVER move it
Before i didnt have a temp to set
Now I set my temp to 185c and almost never move it, unless its winter
Before i used to hit my fire button and inhale the vapor
Now i hit my fire button and inhale the vapor
Its actually less work when i dont move the watts ever or the temp (hardly if ever)...how anyone can say its more work....sheesh...haters![]()

Same goes vaping my RTA's and Subtanks..it's easy to see when it's time to refill looking at the juice level in the tank......and it's without
having to set up a pricey DNA mod because I don't need or use TC..it does nothing for me other than complicate things and the end result is worse than straight wattage mode..![]()
Lastly I'm a cloud chaser, not a flavor chaser..I get thicker clouds on a simple Nichrome build with straight wattage than pulsing my coils with TC..just my 2¢, [emoji3]

I'm with you HendogOn every new TC device I get I always try TC first when I get it (assuming I have the appropriate coil).
So far I have switched to VW mode on all of them.
I guess I just prefer VW.

As for mechs, I wouldn't use a phone or hand drill with no battery protections. Why would I break that rule for vaping? A face is a terrible thing to waste.
I'm kinda with you on this one. The mech users all say that if you know ohm's law, safe building and battery safety, then you are safe. That's true if everything is working correctly, but not so much if your lock ring vibrates loose in your pocket or bag and the fire button activates and stays engaged. There's just no backup.
Ive been using mechanicals for a number of years and agree I am the backupI use mechanicals probably 90% of the time ... always have. However, I fully realize that I'm the backup!

LolI knew I'd get this response.I would argue that you're the "primary line of defense" and there's still no backup. I do think, generally speaking, if you're careful, mechs can be reasonably safe, but they still aren't as safe as when you have a backup.
