... For me? I'm not totally ignorant, just stubborn and unwilling to get into RBA's. As much as it makes purists froth at the mouth, I use an original Kato hammer topped with a lowly pt2. Granted, I have an Aero tank base, a tatroe top, and a sweet three inch pipe tip. I've gone as far as I can go with plug and play. I don't want to build coils, dripping tastes great but is inconvenient. I don't change flavors often, and loathe leaks floods and gurgles. Is the REO for me? If so, there would be a slightly scratched hammer going on the classifieds soon. Also, this will be my sole mod. Pocket carry, all day use etc.
I own both a Reo and an Hcigar Hammer clone.
Honestly, if your unwilling to get into rebuilding you will be missing out on where the Reo can edge out a couple of cheaper bottom feeding options out there. The Reo will be
loads more solid/bullet proof, and offer the ability to use a Kick as well; but in your case (unwilling to rebuild) a VMOD or even a Vision Aurora on your Hammer will get you what your looking for regarding trying out bottom feeding disposable 306 and 510 attys for 1/2 the price (VMOD) and 1/4 the price (Aurora).
You can get VMOD's that use 18650. They hold 50% off sales every year, I'm not sure when though. Perhaps someone else can chime in.
Also, a little FYI: You can purchase a Chi You clone and the 18490 and 18650 battery extension tubes, 510 cap, and switch for the Chi You will screw into your Kato Hammer, allowing you to use your Hammer with larger batteries or frankenstein it's looks (Chi You 510 cap and button). You can even reverse assemble your Hammer (atty sits above the battery extension tubes, not the button).
I'd go with the Vision Aurora first to see if you like bottom feeding with disposable atties in the first place, and move on from there.
If you were willing to get into rebuilding, I wouldn't even be suggesting anything but a Reo for you.
