I had pretty much decided not to DIY as long as I couldnt dedicate a locked room to it due to my 3 1/2 month old daughter. But now that the FDA is looking to make our lives difficult I have been rethinking that. I've been stocking up on batteries and attys ( just in case ) and I know where I can get flavor and PG/VG, BUT...

Where can I get liquid nicotine to add to the PD/VG? Is there a supplier list anywhere?

I did see THIS THREAD but that seems to be a newer supplier you guys are still feeling out.

I don't know if your looking for 100mg/ml or 30mg/ml. If you have a baby in the house I wouldn't get anything over 30mg/ml unless you plan to dilute it to a safer level the minute it comes in. Make sure you read all the warnings.

You'll meet with a bit of resistance to that here. Mostly because even the 100mg dilutions can be very dangerous with just skin contact.

The folks listed above sell nicotine that is already diluted in PG or VG. Pure nicotine is way, way, too dangerous to deal with in a household DIY setting. You need very extreme safety measures to deal with it without killing your self. When we mix our own juices we further dilute the already diluted nicotine and add flavoring. There is a lot of very good information in the stickies at the top of the page. I encourage you to read them so that you are best able to keep yourself and your baby safe.

I am not planning on storing anything in my home without a way to keep it locked up. I would secure a place that would not be in my home obviously. I also don't store dynamite in the baby's crib. ;-P

Here's where I am at with this:

If the FDA decides to pull the rug out from underneath our little community, I have stocked up on batteries and atty's. I'm good there. I know I can get flavorings and PG and VG easily. But getting the nicotine will be the real issue.

Soaking tobacco ( especially THIS POSTED METHOD ) pretty much defeats the purpose as soaking tobacco from cigarettes would only transfer the chemicals from the cigarette into the liquid.

Next, my wife is really gung ho about the whole e cig thing. She doesn't smoke or vape but she sees the change in me over the last few months. Ive been able to research a ton of things and find the answers and share that info with her. She is convinced that getting into the supplier end is a good idea. Personally I think juice is the way to go. So I am determining the feasibility of such a venture by first finding out how one could get all the necessary materials. If I am successful there, then the next step is ordering small amounts and experimenting with mixes to come up with signature flavors ( Like Atomic Cinnacide is a Tasty Vapor signature flavor ) that would set me apart.

So I guess I am looking for wholesalers as opposed to retailers.

I may or may not be successful in any of the steps, but the first is just discovering where one can get the proper materials.

I think what you're saying is that you aren't really looking for pure nicotine as much as wholesale pricing which makes more sense. You might want to try Alibaba for wholesale sources. Please read the posts in the news threads to become familiar with what we expect from up and coming suppliers and talk with pharmacists and chemists before marketing anything. Good luck!

Good Dog, I figure if I follow the route to become a supplier, it'll be at least a year of learning to properly mix before I could even consider asking for cash for my concoctions. Then again, if the FDA bans everything, I could mix it up in my bathtub like gin from the 20's lol.

Mr. Grimme, unless you have a strong background in working with toxins and/or hazmats, and have a fume hood and other expensive safety lab equipment, I would suggest not working with pure free-base l-nicotine. Yes, it is legal, and yes, if you try hard enough you can purchase it. As a chemist, I know of a couple places off the top of my head where you can buy it, but you will be lucky if they sell it to a non-researcher in industry or academia. Even if you know what you are doing, the expense of the equipment needed makes it a rather unwise venture for anyone other than someone planning to produce and sell a lot of ejuice. I am a seasoned chemist, and I will not touch the stuff. 50 mg ingested at once will likely kill you. 20 mg all at once may not kill you, but you will wish it did. And it absorbs through the skin.

If you want to get into DIY, I strongly suggest starting at 30 mg unflavored PG or VG, to work out the details of DIY with a safer concentration. Once you are good at it, and it IS messy in the beginning, and have created a safe zone for it away from your child, you can increase the nic conc. Truly, for even a heavy vaper, a couple liters of 100 mg stored in a locked freezer will likely be all you will ever need. And it would be far cheaper overall than trying to set up to work with pure nic.

BTW, Bliplabs does not sell pure nic. The link given was for 38 mg/mL solution. I they may go up to 100 mg/mL, but not pure. You will not find a vendor here selling pure free-base nic.
