I just bought a Joyetech Espion Solo mod ,it takes a single 21700 battery .I have been reading (sorry for the english spelling) a lot on Google about battery safety, and I have a question.
I have bought a Samsung t30 (35a 3000mah) and a aspire (40a 4000mah) to use in the mod. I only vape at 11 to 20 watts in variable wattage mode, and I want to know if it is safe to use such high drain batteries when I only use so little wattage ?
The most important part about buying batteries is making sure that you buy from a reputable dealer to make sure you get a genuine cell, not a rewrap. The Samsung is manufactured by Samsung. The Aspire is a rewrap. Here's Mooch's test and evaluation for the Aspire cell.
Bench Test Results: Aspire 40A 4000mAh 21700...hugely overrated, incorrect Aspire data, rewrapping
Higher MAH ratings are an indicator of longer vape times for a given wattage setting. Higher amp ratings give you the ability to go to higher wattages safely, but higher amperage ratings usually mean that MAH isn't going to be as high. It's a trade off.
Buying high amp, high MAH batteries is kind of like choosing the big V8 when you purchase a vehicle. You might not use the power, but it's there if you need to pull a trailer. With the 21700 you get both as opposed to an 18650's more limited amp and MAH rating.
FWIW, my Eleaf iStick Pico S came in yesterday. I ordered two Samsung 40T 21700's to use in it. I started using the mod yesterday around 4pm. It's the next day around 9am and I have about 50% battery left. I'm expecting to get 24 clock hours out of the 40T (minus sleep time). With my 18650's I would get something like 8 hours vape time at 10W before swapping cells.
ETA: I got about 15 clock hours in the Pico S from the first 40T at 10W. At least that's a full day of vaping from breakfast to bedtime.
