Is vaping in the car safe?

I vape in my car with windows closed when I go to pick my daughter from school, I don't vape when she's around, but is it safe for her, health wise, to get into the car that's been just filled with vapor? I also freely vape where ever I feel like around the house when nobody is around, hope I am not causing any damage to the family. Would appreciate any input on this.

i have no scientific evidence as to whether it is safe or not for any of us. i do know that it HAS to be better than cigarettes. I use my PV where ever and whenever I feel like it. I have kids, and they seem to like the smell my PV puts off. when smoking a cigarette I would never smoke around them or let them within 20 feet of me when I was smoking... I have let my two oldest teenagers even take a puff off of my PV, as they are at the age where I want them to know that what I am doing is as "harmless" as I say it is, and that it IS what I say it is, and that I am not just openly smoking dope in front of them and telling them it is something different LOL...they are in high school after all! while i wouldn't blow it in your daughter's face, and would probably crack a window just so you can see through all that vapor ;) i wouldn't worry about it too much. i have read studies that PG is actually being studied as an air sanitizer..heck you may be cleaning her airspace of cold or flu germs for all we know!!

IMO would refrain from vaping in front of young children whenever possible because they learn behavior from you and naturally will want to follow in your footsteps. I am confident we will find out soon enough what is bad about vaping because there will most definitely be something. We enjoy it way too much for it to be good or not bad for us.

Somewhere in time.
Let us not forget that the vapor does contain nicotine (more than likely that's the sticky dew type mist that mickdoof is talking about). How much nicotine exactly? Not sure, but to be safe I keep vaping away from my family just as I did smoking.

Honestly, I think the sticky stuff is VG, since 100%pg juices don't seem to do it in my car........

Agree. Two of my children are adults. But good advice, interaction and stories about how I got hooked into smoking through friends make them aware. They know the danger of smoking. I am not very sure about vaping though. So far they dislike smoke from cigarettes. They never complained vapors but they are not taking the habit. My nicotine is very low. Just 5 - 10 mg and often 0 mg.

My youngest who is still schooling often complain that young students would sneak a smoke or two.

Yeah, I kinda misworded that a little.. I thought about it after I posted, and yeah, most of it is probably pg/vg, but it does still contain some nicotine. I can't say for sure how much, but your body doesn't absorb all of it, so there's definitely some trace left in the exhaled vapor ><

Most of the following studies were done in the 1940's and I am not sure what the follow up is but it is very interesting reading.

well hell, if a cop sees me using my ecig in the car and pulls me for it, they will walk away an educated policeperson :)
and there is nicotine in foods you and your children eat! I don't perceive it to be a dangerous chemical in vapor form, although I am not gonna blow it in the kids face in an attempt to get them addicted to it.
and yes i know it is a poisonous liquid, keep away from children and pets....

They are more at risk inhaling the fumes coming out of the tailpipe of the car in front of you, than they are getting into your car that may have a little vapor residue in the air. IMO.

we are told everyday that many things are "safe" for us. that research has been done. blah blah blah.
then we find out 40 years later, that OH CRAP, it isn't so safe after all.
pick and choose your battles to your own willingness to take risks. point blank, unless you live on a farm and produce all of your own consumables and have an air bubble of un-polluted air surrounding you, you're pretty much screwed either way :(

In Many sates it is illegal to smoke in the car with kids

Here in Ontario, it's the same law. I have only had one of my kids in my truck with me and I vaped....I smoked cigars all the time but never with the kids in my truck nor did I smoke them in the house. One night, I vaped a long while in my computer room at home and my wife said the next morning there was a smell in the room but I put it down to a crappy tobacco juise I was using. Using a vanilla one, she has not smelled anything. Overall, I'd say there's no risk to your kids if you were vaping in your car or home. As someone said, it may come out years from now that vaping isn't that great for your own health but it's gotta be way 'safer' than regular smokes.
