mlrgrl: have you ever gotten the "e4" error? manual says to contact provape (which i did)...weird. got it twice. also, do you notice the attys burn HOT HOT sometimes? is that normal?.........

..........BTW, with a fully charged small battery i got only 4 hours. very disappointing. but the larger battery seems to be lasting into the 8 hours range at least so far. think i might just stay w/the big batteries. i got 3 of the big batteries to always have one fully charged and waiting to be swapped out.

Sadly, no; I haven't had that one. So far, I've only had E1-3, when I wasn't paying attention and swapped atty/cartos with major Ohm/Voltage swings.

Has it been a constant thing, or when you switch to a different atty/carto, does it kind of correct its self?
Either way, especially with this price tag, it should be perfect and any deviation should be brought to ProVape's attention.

The first person I heard getting this was from the guy in Scotland who has been doing reviews since before I started vaping (his name escapes me...think it starts with an E or I?... he was the one who promised me I wouldn't regret it if I switched from 901s to 510s. He was so right & may have kept me from returning to the dark side....). If I remember correctly, he'd get a few hits off a different atty/carto before it would start doing it again and there was no way for him to actually use the unit.
It was kind of funny that he of all people was one of the first people to have such major issues with his ProVari.....

510 attys are very notorious for getting very hot hot hot. That was one beauty (or drawback) of having the cone on the eGo - you never really noticed it.
The other nice thing about the cone is you never had to deal with the sweat, like one had to with a standard 510 battery. Oh, how I did NOT miss those days of having to make sure I had napkins with me! While the ProVari has a really nice, deep juice well on it, when used with an atty with a cart (don't think it's every leaked on me while dripping), one still has to carry little bits of napkin incase the well starts to fill up, but at least it doesn't become a bloody mess like before. Another reason I'm pushing myself to switch to cartos.

OH yeah; I've been able to suck down one of the shorties in about 4 hrs before.
It was after that, that I decided to turn the button light off, thinking every little bit of energy that wasn't used could go towards my vaping.
Now that a month has passed, I am starting to notice that the batteries seem to be lasting me a little more and more each day. I don't know if I'm starting to settle more into a more normal vaping pattern, I'm not fiddling with the voltages as much (every time a light goes on, a battery looses a little juice hee hee hee), or if Jupiter is rising in the second sun. I almost got an entire day out of the bigger battery the other day and that's HUGE for me. Guess I'm figuring as long as it's lasting as long as my eGo, I can deal with that.

mlrgrl will be getting back to you shortly - today is Sunday and she is quite religious (almost became a Nun at one time)

Who told you my secret? (I actually did when I was around 8 yrs old)
But ya know, that whole poverty and chastity thing.....
Actually, the culprit was my new cell phone. Trying to relearn a whole new phone system has me completely consumed. I really should read the manual...that would probably help me but play n learn is just sooo much fun!
Now, where was I .........

Actually, in this group, we prefer to call First Time User/Purchasers not Experts, but rather 'Guinea Pigs' - right Vick's?

Amen to that, Brother C-kool:nun:

#3893...:(

Do you ever use cartos w/ this? I am not into the cart/atty thing. My atty's always taste like crap, no matter what I do. If you do, which ones?

Thanks! I'm told you are THE expert on this mod....:)

As per the quote above, definitely not the expert....just the first in the group to bite the bullet and purchase on presale LOL

Yes! While attys provide the tighter TH I prefer, by having the ability to adjust the voltage, the ProVari has helped me appreciate & enjoy cartos more than I ever was able to before.
As to what type....hmmm....mostly I've using just standard ol' 510 cartos that I have a huge amount of from Cigtechs (still can't figure out how I got so many of them.....). Off the top of my head, I do have some Boge 510s, Gen Joyes, E2s and Clearomizers, but with so much going on here since the holidays (I just got my PV on 27DEC), the standard ones are the ones I've really been using the most since I can just drip right onto them & don't have to worry about using a syringe or any special care.

The biggest benefit to having a variable voltage device is it allows you to enjoy just about any kind of atty/carto, since you can dial it in to your specific desires. Now, it doesn't matter if you have LRs, HRs or just regular ol' cartos.

One of the major drawbacks of the ProVari, is the size/weight of the unit. But in this ever changing industry, I have no doubt that too soon (read; before I've had the ProVari long enough to convince MlrMan I need a new toy LOL), there will be a sleeker design about the size of an eGo with a mega battery to match in all kinds of pretty colors.

The vaping world is changing just as fast, if not faster than technology world right now. No matter what we buy, it's going to be obsolete within mere months, if not days. We just have to decide our wants, needs and desires & what ever it takes to keep us off the analogs is the perfect solution.

when the E4 error happens, the unit doesn't work right. i'm sending it back. i don't want to eff around w/a faulty unit. but now am not sure want to get another one. trying to weigh the pros and cons. i think i do want a replacement. it's very heavy, and annoying to carry, but i do like how versatile it is, so I think i still want it. when it does work, it works great.

Totally agree! Especially with that price tag! have the guys got back to you yet?

Has your Infinity shipped yet?
Do you know what the voltage range on that one is? Maybe that one will be more than enough in the VV dept for you (at half the cost!)

Welcome to 20 Questions Monday! LOL

Ginny pigs sounds about right - or 'experimental rodents....' for us who get things on the presales.

and, like most every new mod I've gotten, the SB is a hard conversion (but, then again, it's measuring up against the perfection that is the Fisty...). It comes along every day, gets a few hits in now and again, but I just can't seem to pry the Fisty out of my hands.

everyone set for the big snow we're supposed to be getting?

That's too bad. :( I decided to cancel my order. A lot of people seem to be experiencing these Error codes and I'm not spending the money until it's been streamlined. Maybe they'll come up with something smaller.

I'm trying these new eGo tanks and I must say, so far so good. I keep you posted! :)

You know, just my 2 cents, but I've really locked into the 808. Sure, I've bought a few batteries, etc, but with the premium cartos, they are simplicity itself. I bought one of those XL batteries, and they last a long time on a charge. I'm tempted by the Ego, but haven't pulled the lever yet. I like things that work, and these things do. They are easy to carry around, too. When I first started, I was always messing with my atty, and it was a pain to drive and run out of juice. The key is using cartos, to me. I don't ever panic anymore with these things.

I had to laugh at the thought of MlrGrl as a nun. lol BTW, I had a long conversation about this with one of her former nunny mentors, and was told she left the convent after a dispute about whether she could pick out the wine for communion, or something. I gotta say, I think it's good she left the order, but then again, you can't have too many funny nuns.

Oh yeah, I still like grape juice.

well, they are willing to send another one, and a return label for this one. i think that's very fair. i think i'm not trusting this one anymore because of the E4 errors. the other error codes are user errors (setting the voltage too high seems to be the way to get the standard errors) i do like the thickness of the vapor and how the attys pull on this. my eGo seems to have a "harsher" TH, but the vapor isn't and "puffy". and frankly, the flavors just taste WAY better on this. i'n sucking down liquid like it's diet coke! good thing i ordered some lower nic stuff BEFORE i got this. if i do get to the point where i decide i don't want it, i can probably can some good ching for it on the forums, so i'm going to go w/the exchange rather than the refund. no, i haven't gotten the infinity yet. my god, what if i like that better? lol. we decided to forgo the glv2 until the infinity came, and gary loooooves the provari, so maybe he ends up w/the super mod someday? or maybe he'll get the infinity...or maybe i'll process the order for the glv2. or maybe i won't.

weather? bring it on. but i'm not driving the interstate and my boyfriend owns a plow company:)

That is so cool that you are still on the 808s!
I do love the size & life of the battery, the cool PCC case.....but the carto just wasn't as tight as the 510 for me. When the eGos came out, I never picked up the 808 again. Hmmm....wonder if the batteries will still fire up...

.

What was so wrong about taking up a second collection to purchase premium wines? It's a whole lot better than that nasty after taste that you can't do anything about until Mass is over and you pop in a piece of gum...
I tell ya...some people really believe perpetual suffering is the only way to Heaven....but smelling that cheap wine on someone's breath was Hell...

still chuckling over 'nunny mentor' LOL

:cry:No, no, Mother Superior....I promise to be a good girl....not the ruler.....

 sorry. Flashback.....

I'm just hoping that we get a lot of snow on Wed morning, so I've got an excuse to take the day off and relax

Thankfully, once you get your replacement, you'll have 7 days to put it through it's paces and then make a decision..............if there are no more glitches.

Have they even given you an ETA ship date on the Infinity yet?

Go EMan!!

anyone know the latest order number that has shipped.... want to know how far down the line i am.

There's a thread on the ProVape page here that many customers have been good about keeping up to date:

Now, of course it is working better and i haven't had an E4 error in two days. Still, I'd rather have a replacement than suddenly have it seize.

NO on the infinity. I don't think the company is nearly as on top of it as ProVape. I just keep hoping they didn't miss my order. BUT, it's only been 9 days. I'm liking the provari MUCH better now!

So, I have found that the attys that seem to work BEST on the Provari for me so far are at 2.0 and 2.1 ohms. Seems low, I know, but what a great pull and TH I get from them. I run them at about 4.8 to 5.0 volts. That seems to give me the flavor/TH sweet spot. Have a BUNCH of new 2.3 attys to try, but am going to burn my old ones first. BTW, ALL of the attys i'm using are ones I thought were dead because they just weren't working right in my eGo. Now, I have only LR attys for my eGos, and am using the slightly higher resistance ones for the Provari. This weekend, I'm going to mess w/the clearomizers again, because Iit seems like I'm CONSTANTLY dripping on the mod. The one I did try was 2.8 ohms. I would looooove it if i can find the sweet spot on those!

LOL! Just like a kid....it knows it's going to be sent back and now wants to behave better LOL

Looks like a perfect solution for those times you need to use your eGo to get by
:)facepalm:sorry; couldn't help it.....)

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but normally higher voltage = burning through the juice faster. While the carto still holds more than an atty, just thought I'd toss it out there if you notice you're having to fill the cartos more than you did on the 510.

that has GOT to be true, because I am just sucking down the juice like soda w/the provari! i am going to try to get those claear cartos to work this weekend. BTW, my fave genjoye 510s don't taste as good at the higher voltages~! i have like 8 boxes of them, too! I'll just save those for the eGos. GREEEEEAT, another round of "hobby experimentation" sucking money from my checking account! i blame MLRGRL!!! hahahaha!
