I've never had or made a juice that was just so god-awful that I couldn't face the idea of vaping it.

I've had some that weren't great, or weren't my taste. But never just BAD.

Well. It was bound to happen eventually.

I made some English Toffee DIY. I don't know if I did something terribly wrong, or if my PG has gone off, or if this stuff just blows. But I can't vape it.

I just... I can't.

It tastes like cardboard wrapped around a burning tire. And I can't figure out why.

The flavor doesn't smell like that in the bottle. The inhale is... ok.

But the exhale... flaming cardboard and tires.

*sigh*

Hey you tried right?! :) I won't even venture close to DIY. Yes, it's cheaper. Yes, I love experimenting. Yes, I'm a good cook. Yes, my wife is a Pastry Chef ;), but I still won't try it. There's too many good mixes out there for me to try as yet. I'm hooked on Tasty Vapor right now. Have not even ventured to some of the other amazing mixers that I keep reading about.

Maybe in a couple years, yes?! :)

Better luck on your next try.

Well, I vape mostly my own DIY, and I've never had one taste so... bad. It was a simple one-flavor mix, so not that hard to get right, ya know? Just nic juice, PG/VG and flavor.

I gotta think something has either gone off or the flavor itself is just... not good.

I dunno, man. But I can't even talk myself into taking the few puffs it would require to empty out the atty so I could put something new in. It's just... awful.

VaporPhreak - English Toffee by PA, at 15%. I like 'em strong.

The flavor smells ok. The inhale is ok. The exhale is... UGH.

Taste a little of the plain cut solution, or plain solution with nic. spit. Taste a little of the flavoring...1 drop.... spit. none of this via the PV.

Does it taste "spoiled"?

Tastes fine. If it tasted like that when vaped it would be alright.

But it doesn't smell good, and it vapes... well, you read.

I just made 2 more DIY's - Absinthe, also PA, and Tiramisu, from FA. Both taste nice.

My nic juice and dilutants are the same in all three. It's gotta be the flavor. Maybe I just... really, really don't like it.

Hmmm. Well, it was just a thought.

If it's any consolation, I had a "malted milk" flavoring that tasted like puke... esp on the exhale. I invented a few new cuss words. It's even in the "worst flavor you ever tried" thread. $$ down the drain.

I wonder if dairy flavors......go "off" (butter in the toffee). IDK. Good luck.

I'm a DIY newb, but did you let it age? I made some butterscotch the other day and had the exact same reaction. I'm hardheaded though and didn't want to give up just yet,so I took the dropper off and let it sit for 2 days. Today was day three and the taste was much much improved. Still not great, but not so bad I can't/won't vape it

You do bring up a good point, and I do plan to let it sit for a week or so before I just pour it down the drain. Tasting like this, I wouldn't even give it away. I'd feel bad.

Sometimes juices do go from "eh" to "yum" after they've aged a bit. But I've never had one that tasted so... awful!

I'll see what happens after a week.

Hahhaha I nearly bust something laughing. Oh well we've all been there...

Where is that 'Worst Flavor Ever' thread? Sounds fun. We should move this over there :)

As for the practical side: English Toffee is one of the strongest out there, like Butter Rum and Menthol. You only need a tiny, tiny bit. Imagine if you made menthol eliquid at 15%? Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrgghhhhhh!!!!!!

What you can try is to take 1ml of unflavored base and add 2 or 3 drops of your yuck liquid to it. That would be about the right strength. Plus a drop or two of other flavors that help ET, like caramel. Treat it like menthol.

Or maybe there's something wrong with one of the ingredients. But it sounds like simple OD to me.

Hmm, I'll give that a shot. Thanks Rolygate and VPDownunder.

I'm also wondering if part of it is me. Nothing tastes right today. None of it tastes rip-your-hair-out terrible like this English Toffee... but everything tastes sickly sweet with no throat hit today. I dunno why, maybe my senses have gone haywire. Maybe the English Toffee wrecked my brain. No idea.

I am guessing this is the first time you have mixed this flavor. Have you tried anyone else's version of english toffee?

Yes it is, and no I haven't. It just sounded so yummy.

I will try Rolygate's suggestion and water it down a lot. I figured I had to be doing something wrong. It doesn't taste spoiled, and, well, if this is how it's supposed to taste I just can't imagine anyone vaping it, lol.
