iTaste SVD + ProTank...very poor vapor...what's up??

So I got my SVD, put a freshly charged Panasonic 18650 in it, screwed my ProTank to it, set it to 8 watts and hit it. I barely got a hit. ...? I took it off and put a MT3 tank on it and it hits like a freight train at 8W. Hm... I look into the connector on top, nothing weird in there, dug it out with a Q-tip anyway, it came back clean. I cleaned the connector on the ProTank, that seems to be within normal parameters of dirty, but nothing that should make it hit this weakly. So I try again and get a little more, but still pretty weak. I put the ProTank back on my VAMO, it hits like a freight train. There's something not right about the 510 connector on the SVD.

Any ideas?

Thanks, MattyBoy

Did you buy the SVD from Fasttech?
Did you buy the battery from Fasttech?

If no to both of the above:

I'll sleep easier awaiting my order from Fasttech :)

The SVD is indeed from FastTech, but I'm confident it's genuine. It took about 2 weeks to arrive, but I'm pretty sure it's the real deal. The ProTank is from Discount, and genuine as well. Both ends work perfectly with other equipment, just not with each other.

The protank 510 is a little weird, also make sure its not tooo tight on the top of the SVD as the Protank is air fed from the bottom.

It's definitely not an airflow issue. I've tried with and without the collar, with and without an adapter (which works perfectly on my VAMO), and gotten only slightly different amounts of airflow. It hits like a ProTank...LOTS of air...

wish I could help... thats kinda strange it not hitting well. I received my SVD from fasttech last week and also use a protank. I am running it on 3.7 and it hits great with a 1.8 ohm coil in the protank with either the small or larger batteries.

I have also ordered some of those look alike protanks from Fasttech yesterday...the x9 or something like that for 6 bucks each. I am hoping that these tanks don't have the leak problems or the "threads breaking off" problem that the protanks seem to have.

Good luck with someone figuring out the problems your having.

Pull up the pin ? Hmmmm my SVD have a spring loaded center pin and is very high. Was a surprise to me since i have not read anywere of a SVD spring loaded center pin. And yes is from fastech came in an original innokin plastic sealed box and is my best mod for the protank.

My phenix atty clon have the center pin way inside the 510 and dont make any conection on almost every mod / ego i have , in fact only works on my vamo and for getwork on the evic i have to pull out the center pin every time i screw on.. On my SVD since is spring loaded pin the pheonix clone make good contact even when is not complete screw on..

Bottom line my protank work awesome in my SVD

I get no airflow using SVD and T3s,I think it's because on the SVD the bottom edge of the t3 meets the top face of the mod and leaves just the air holes to do the work.

On the MVP the bottom edge sits up and there is airflow coming from the bottom as well as the airholes.

I've also had tricky 510's on protanks.

But I just read a post from another ft svd user who has no problem with t3's. I asked him to post a picture. I would bet he has less threads. so a screw up some where

yeah mgm..like we discussed on FT..the threads go too high on the SVD..check the pic with the svd T3 and ego battery..you can clearly see the ego batt has flat metal where the SVD has threads..the airhole on the T3 ends up in the threads restricting airflow..my MVP has the same issue..

yeah man..I have no real probs on my SVD..but there is airflow at the bottom of mine..I think the threads have a lot to do with it..

If you notice my t3 (not screwed down all the way) I made slots on bottom of t3 and enlarged one air hole. This works but if I cover the enlarged air hole then I have no air flow. So even with slots on t3 I cant get air to go up through the threads

I tried first with just slots on bottom of T3 collar still no air flow. Drilled out the air hole and it ends up above the the ego threads. Air flow now. Must be the ego threads are too big no air can get through them ?
