Just got my itaste in the mail yesterday, and it is so boss. I probably haven't had it long enough to give a truly accurate review, but I thought I'd share a few first impressions.
I bought the chameleon color, and the finish is just gorgeous, a dark, glossy smooth, glimmering finish shifting from deep purple to teal to dark forest green depending on how the light hits it. (I neeeed nail polish like this- do you think Innokin makes nail polish? No? Dang.) PBusardo mentioned in his review that the batt and cap in the chameleon color didn't match on the early model he received- mine match perfectly.
I'm also getting far less play in the connection between the atty and the batt than it appears the video reviewers did- mine hardly wiggles at all. If you pull straight up on it, though, it separates really easily, so when I go to pull the mouthpiece out to drip, I nearly always pop the whole thing off instead- you just need to grip it higher up, but it will take some getting used to. I'm more than happy to deal- too many pros outweigh that very minor con.
The large, flat square button is very comfortable, much more comfortable than the tiny button on my Lea, and its a pretty satin brushed steel finish with a sort of target symbol that lights up unobtrusively to tell you how much charge you have left.
I was surprised at how really comfortable it is in your hand- being square, I was somewhat worried that it wouldn't be, but the edges are beveled smoothly, and it feels great, very solid. Weightier than my Lea, but not as heavy as my Leo Pro.
The puff counter thing is very neat, I have to admit reluctantly, because frankly, I thought that sounded silly. I'm not going to tell you how many puffs I have taken on this thing so far because somebody would probably call an ambulance, but it does seem to be working accurately.
The one thing I don't like so far is that I needed needle-nosed pliers to unscrew the atty in order to change it out- it fits in there really tightly. I have chronic pain from nerve damage in my hands, so my hands are probably weaker than most people's, but I thought I'd mention it- if you have arthritis or neuropathy, you'll need pliers.
But of course, the main attraction, beyond the overall attractiveness, is the variable voltage, and I am no longer a VVV (variable voltage virgin). It would be awesome to be able to say I vaped something cherry flavored for my virgin run, but I chose Ms T's pear instead, simple, sweet, and clean, and I already know it's steeped and tasty- it's one of my favorites on any PV.
And I had never really even tasted it before. Holy cats what a difference. I only had to tweak it up a few points to hit it just exactly right, but when I found the right voltage for that juice, I got sooo much more out of it than I ever expected. The minute it started to fade, I tried Ms. T's cinnamon danish banana, which has a lot of complexity that can be elusive and easily missed if you don't steep it long enough, and again was blown away once I found its ideal number. Amazing.
I'm finding that I can drip quite a bit more into this thing, too. I'm used to dripping about 3-4 drops at a time, I can get 6 to 8 in this before I start getting gurgles.
I keep trying to get around to trying out the tidy clearos I bought to go with it (I bought the kit with atties and tank cartridges), but I can't stop dripping with it, so I may never know if I like those or not, but I can tell you this- you will not be sorry if you pick one of these up. The price was great- I got mine from WhiteStagVapor.com for $79.95 (free shipping), and the itaste will make you a very happy vaper.
