After built of the ready wire ribbon very close
Put rebuildble on the ohm meter and check the ohm reading.
If it around 1.5 ohm the it's not micro built!!!
You should start with a little screw driver to tight the coil a bit from the NR
Wrap to make contact on R tight (not from the ribbon as it will damaged) a litle more until you get the ohm reading around 1 ohm to max 1.2ohm,
And that's on the 1.5 ohm ready ribbon wire.
This way only you will know that you implement it as micro tin coil.
When you see this, only then the pre made will start to kic'n some as's.
You can do it without the ohm meter only by looking how fast it's glowing and that it's
Start from the middle, but I prefer to see the resistence is stay steady around 1.1 ohm
And not that it moving up or down,if it's going up or down then at one point of refilling the tank
you will loos the kick of the ribbon
And you will stay only with regular 1.5 ohm ribbon wich is not bad,but it's not the same.
It's can be made the same with silica and R only on the new update without actual make of
Traditional micro coil/cotton, only tight wraps of R 28/26 gage on double silica and make the same procedure With the ohm meter.

It's only say in general (according to some establish specifications that we not familiar with)
that the material on itself is not hazard in regard to those specifications,
no more.
but it's better then nothing at all.
I wouldn't use it as food supplement though, but may see it as non hazard or minor risk if not
swallow or inhale in quantities, until someone provide more fundamental scientific conclusions.
I think that with gum juice all over the wick there is no heavy risk of inhaling silica parts.
we do it for few years know.
I know it's very early to make real conclusions but that's what we have for know.
people post on ECF claim other without valid scientific research backup,
(and those on vapers will be only many years from now)
should regard with respect and suspicion as general opinion and not more.
so in the end the ball is on our side we deside what to do with the little we know.
I guess compare to analog days we are much safer and on better ground.

I agree with everything you say guys, and I will be using silica still when I am not in the mood to battle the microcoil R-NR battle, however the idea of having a cleaner taste on cotton (boiled the way i do it that is) leads me to think of something. The absence of weird taste does not mean the absence of chemicals, but the presence of off taste in case of silica means something is getting into the mix. This is how I think about it.

maybe the reason for better or cleaner taste is only because the vape
is colder or always saturated??
so the less cleaner on the silica is do to dryer hits with less flavor that come in the end of vape
in away it's look like adding taste really??
it's hard to think on the silica keep adding taste tank after tank, when there is no
technical reason for glass to do so?
or it's the kantal do so when getting red hot on the silica because it's not wick as cotton???
I'm just thinking I really don't know.
I read all and take all as a possible for now.
one thing we do know, the cotton wick better and keep the kantal cooler
as it's always fully saturated, but from this point we don't know more.
I think better design of silica like R in the middle of the wick or tubular silica
may provide better alternative??

From experience i can tell you it took me almost 2 months of researching cotton and finding the right one. with trials many tasted like bleach because they use chemicals to whiten cotton. These chemicals are bad for you. I tried many brands that said organic and still had chemicals that made the taste horrible to the point of vomiting. No reason to boil them since you will still get of the left over chemical.

In my search I have found the following that works very well without the need to boil. Its Maxim Hygiene organic cotton balls. I have found another brand but I have yet to test it which is swisspers organic biologique.

The ones I use in my videos are the Maxim brand.

This report that was linked linked from CTI a China company and shows on page 2 the following list of ingredients.

Silicon dioxide is the main ingredient at 95.21% percent. The following link for Silicon dioxide under Health Effects says that "silica dust can lead to silicosis, bronchitis, or cancer, as the dust becomes lodged in the lungs and continuously irritates them, reducing lung capacities."

Used silica wick from disposable Pons e-cigarette. Under microscope.
We can see a lot of silica needles. Wick works 2 days until battery died.
E-cig reverse engeneering sowed that the air channel is stright, so if needle break away from wick it is inhalled by user.

and when cotton gets inhaled by the user xtreme? Below is a site that I found quickly. We can all of us do more research about vaping wicks

ps....... Lungs will only keep pieces under 3μm like maybe cotton dust and not big items like silica needles. Thats an opinion only but it has a strong base

edit2.... I am not defending silica but I am a user that needs to know the truth, looking both sides or/and alternatives wicks

Diffuse lung disease caused by cotton fibre inhalation but distinct from byssinosis -- Kobayashi et al. 59 (12): 1095 -- Thorax

What We see in the video Xtreme is close up of working coil, not much more.
Didn't cach what the guy say,but we don't see the silca become dust and flying
All up to the lunge.
I think if one to swallow such needles,it will make him cough quiet a bit.
it's importent to keep in mind and be aware
but one can think pepole in factories and in city full with automobile,
Inhale more verity of particle of dust and chimicals without controlling or knowing
What get into there lunge.
So using good suppliers looking for better control manufacture products as Bishop did
Is the most effective thing we can do for know.
Bit I think also we should avoid from "believes" and take serious
hard facts data only,in to consideration.
I don't want to become worried becose one show me a pile of dust silica
( not you the one who make this video),as this pile picture
Is irelevent to the vaping act,and serve for me only as gimmick to make point clear.
For all I know he can be from some tobaco factorie working for there behalf.
Cassa work vey hard to bit such so calld well made demonstrations all the time,we are not helping
Them buy showing parts of data, that look like final conclusion but are not so yet.

Yesterday I received the New Rebuildable Part for my Ithaka and I have to accept that when I first saw that Imeo was doing this part for the Ithaka i was skeptical to the idea. But like a true GG fan I want every bits of the GG line. ;) So I give it a try and Im in shock :p Is one of the best vape I have in my almost 6 years of vaping. And is just my first setup with this rebuildable part.
My first setup is a micro coil of six wraps of 28awg K-A1 and cotton. Resulting ohms 0.97

Thanks Imeo, you did it again.

After going through several tanks full and several cotton microcoil builds using this new rebuildable section for the Ithaka, I am absolutely astounded! It is everything I expected, and then some ... extremely easy to build coils and re-wick, with flavor and vapor to beat the band! It is a very smooth vape, and extremely enjoyable. :)

Now Imeo can make my vaping life complete by making similar rebuildables for the Penelopes. I have three Penny v1s and two Penny v2s, and I would immediately buy new Ithaka-style rebuildables for all of them! I understand that Proteus must come first, but these rebuildables are complete game changers and Penelope versions can't come too soon for me.

We have enough time in our hands before Proteus hits the market, so we can make Penelope without NR wire Scott. But for now I am making all the missing GG items, new AD pins for Penelope and solid justGG tubes. After that we can make a no NR wire part for Penny. We can start making it in about 15 days
