First: R is resistance wire NR is non-resistance wire. ;-)

Dual coil makes more flash and needs more juice. The atty will be hot at vaping, after short time. Vape is nearly the same. batteries are faster down too.

I tkae flat wire 0.1x0.5mm or 0.20mm wire for a single coil and 0.15mm wire for a dual coil.

I just listened to the replay of the VP Live interview with Bruce from COV. Very short, but informative. Bruce just does not seem to be able to clearly express himself. The one thing that did become clear is that the 20 he said he had for sale at Vape Bash were people who had requested refunds sometime between the preorder & VapeBash. So 20 people ordered Ithaka at Preorder then backed out. These are what he was selling at Vape Bash. That was totally unclear during the weekend communications on ECF, FB wherever. Had that been made clear, I think everyone would have been fine with that. But that was not clearly communicated.

Next the thing about staying up all night fighting with customs to get Ithaka released from customs. That has been stated many times. I didn't know customs was a 24 hour service. Can anyone else confirm?

Next unclear statement, their team in Florida was working on shipping out Ithaka while Bruce & Justin were in Chicago, but he also said they had brought the Ithakas to Chicago with them. Which is it. Again very unclear communication.

What this all boils down to is lack of communication. No Clear Communication!

The customers, not having a clear understanding of the facts felt as if Bruce & Jason had turned their backs on us. Bruce and Jason felt that their customers had turned their backs to them.

All it would have taken is to have said:

1) Ithaka held up in customs
2) Ithaka released from customs, we now have them.
3) 20 Ithaka preorders from December have backed out of the presale and we have refunded them their $. These 20, which are now unspoken for, we are taking to Chicago to show off and sell.
4) Anyone from Chicago that preordered can pick up their Ithaka from us at our table. Anyone going to Chicago Vape Bash from around the country can pick up Ithaka from us at our table. (Does anyone have any communication of this?)
5) We left 'X' amount of Ithaka in Florida & our team is working on packaging and shipping these to preorder customers. These will be given to the Post Office on Monday after we account for the ones picked up in Chicago.

If this had been 'clearly' communicated to the preorder customers, I know I would not have had any problem whatsoever with this. Would anyone else have had a problem with this?

As we all know this is not what happened. The half communications, the unclear communications, left both COV and their customers feeling disrespected and ignored & filling in the blanks with their own quesses. The result is history.

The lesson in all of this is transparency. Full disclosure and full communication. Never assume the other side has all the facts. They just do not. Restate clearly & often what is going on.

I now feel Bruce & Jason were trying their best to do what they considered to be the best for all concerned. But that did not get across to the customers.

We are all vapors & need to hang together as a community. But that can only happen when we work together to openly, honestly, with a willingness to be clear and support each other. We truly are all in this together.

I hope we can all take the lessons from this experience and apply them to the future of our beloved hobby.

I realized a 0.9 ohm resistance only with resistive wire :)
I use AW 18490 on GGTS
0.9 ohm on GGTS with 18490 is OK ?
My ithaka work well but is very very very hot

You didn't use any non-resistance wire? That's why it's very very very hot. You need to use non-resistance wire on the ceramic side at least.

If the VB incident doesn't prove to Bruce and Justin how important communication is, nothing will. They both seem like decent people but they both definitely lack in clear communication. Personally, I think it would be better for COV if Bruce did most of the posting on their forum. Not that Justin's a bad guy, I think he's probably just young and doesn't really have experience with customer relations.
And I think it would benefit COV if Bruce showed his face more often in the forum...seems like the only time he posts is when he has something new to sell. He could stand to take a page from Imeo's book in this department.
In any case, I'm sure COV has learned a couple things and will probably bounce back as a better vendor.

I cant wait until everyone gets there shipment in, so everyone can stop talking about COV and start talking about Ithaka -___-

including me

Agreed...

So now that folks are playing with Ithaka, any consensus on "best build"?

Maybe a comparison of dual coil/"x" vs. dual coil/parallel vs single coil/"x" vs single coil/double wick vs single coil/single wick?
What settings for base feeder vs using mouth piece juice control?
Best performing resistance range, gauge of wire?

Mine will be here this week and would love to have some insight from folks already playing.

Ι vape very well with a 18350 battery and duals, each one at 1,5 ohm for about 1,5-2 hours Mike. Its not bad because duals can vape even if battery reach 3 volts. Its still a pleasant vape. But maybe 2 hours its not good for some people and I understand that.
Two 1.5 ohm coils in parallel will give you .75 ohm effective dual coil resistance. If your using a mechanical mod with IMR 18650 batteries such as made by AW or MNKE you should be ok. I think it would be to much for your 18350 battery even if it's IMR type it will not last you too long before it drains down. At 4.2V on the battery it will use ~5.6 amps with a .75 ohm resistance on the atty.

I think that Ithaka doesnt get hot at all with duals sfera, because its fat and it also has the clear on it:)

I'm still pretty noob to this coil and wick area.
Can anybody tell me the difference between single and dual coil?
Btw which wire is the best for coiling?
What is R, what is NR?
Hehe :p

dual coils is like you vape 2 e-cigs at the same time my friend cook. R wire = the resistance wire and NR wire = the no resistance wire. We need the NR wire to connect the edjes of the R wire. Then we connect the edges of NR wire to the poles of Ithaka
