If they just stopped to realize that the money they paid for cigarettes probably far surpasses the price of really good mods and attys, then they would start making sense. I'm pre ordering GG products and grabbing everything I can and I'm STILL not spending as much as I did when I smoked. (I was a 3 pack a day smoker)

... seen that PBrusardo review of... I don't remember what... where he says: "I started vaping for two reasons: health and to save money. the latter has gone out of the window a long, long time ago!" ;-p

seriously: if you're after *serious* stuff (as GGs are)... and even if you are an ex 3packs a day smoker as I was... in three months I've spent for hardware only what I would have spent in cigarettes in a year :-/

ok, ok, ok, I know: the monkey grabbed me =;-p

Thanks for reading my post carefully, Imeo. It's awesome that you're so attentive and you have amazing designs.

Moueix, I completely agree with you. Availability is a key issue. I'm waiting for the day when GGs are freely available.

ProngATO, I think you may have missed the point I was trying to make. It had nothing to do with the price of cigarettes. My point was pertaining to copying designs.

If it wasn't for clones, I would of never been interested in GG products. I had considered them to be out of reach for my blood. From the inflated prices on the classies, I could not afford one. When I bought the terminator I instantly became interested in the ody. I just made my first GG purchase with the ithaka pre order. I really don't think clones take money away from the originator. There will be those that will pay the money for the real thing and those that wont. I am one that will, when I can. Anybody in their right mind can't buy a clone and feel that they are using the real thing. So I used clones as a way to consider the real thing. Everybody doesn't have as much disposable income as others. I had to save money to make that jump for the ithaka. I was saving for a birthday present to myself. Hadn't decided what it was gonna be until I got word of the ithaka preorder. Now I can't wait to get it.

I would guess the day that they are "freely" available (I think you mean mass produced) is the day many collections of GG fall. Many of us are collectors as it makes them much more special to us. Mass producing any item will prove to bring many issues with design, quality control, theft and will hurt Imeo's bottom line as I see many of the big collections not only losing monetary value but also sentiment.
Perseas from GP(who looks up to Imeo with much respect) also knows that mass production is a recipe for failure. Caravella, Chi_You, SvoeMesto, Doc Dave and others know well that mass production is not any way to produce fine devices or profit.
The hunt is part of the game for some of us as well as the family of vapors that it brings together.
Imeo is awesome to be here with us daily but when they are mass produced I dont want to talk to a "Beckie from some other region to help me while she reads out of a printed manual starting at step one".
I recommend taking a look at some of the collections here, http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/gg/227707-gg-pictures.html , and trying to understand the time and money some have put in to their GG devices.
As always wishing you the best and Be Well

The math isn't very complicated for me. I'm not posting $'s in to this post nor any quantities just the logical decision behind my purchases. Here goes.
3 years ago, I had smoked for 35 yrs, 2.5 PAD at the end.
I jumped into vaping with a 510 starter kit, then a 6 volt mod, next a VV, finally a GGTS. It took a year to try a GGTS. In that period of time I bought tons of attys & cartos until I bought an iAtty which led me to the following GG RBA's. I have acquired a few other premium mods that I am proud to own, but Imeos GG products made it all make a lot more sense. Being able to create my own atomizer coils and wicks, use different batteries or stacked batts, plus all the options Imeo has produced for his GG's. At this time I could stop buying GG stuff, and never have to buy another mod or atomizer.

So..buy just 1 GG & RBA and your set for life, if you buy more its because GG's really do give back more than they cost.

as much as i might complain about the availability of GG's sometimes i do like the fact that they are rare and hard to get, making them that much more desirable to me. i think if they were mass produced it would decrease their value and their craftsmanship. their rarity gives them an additional value unique to us all. plus the fact that they are among my favorite devices, and i have tried too many to count. i have spent a lot of money in the past 2 years and it dosent bother me, its now a hobby, a pastime. i enjoy watching reviews and looking at the new and upcoming creations, messing around with builds, and trying to find my perfect vape. the fact that i am completely done with smoking cigarettes is reward enough to me no matter the cost. i would pay any amount of money not to be staring down the barrel of a inevitable gun (death from smoking). my money is in hand and patiently waiting for more gg

Hey Idaholandho,

I did not mean mass production. I was referring to Imeo's signature and motto.

I browse the GG pictures frequently and fully appreciate the merit of collecting. The hunt is fun and intrinsically satisfying.

Finally, having been at the receiving end of Imeo's care and commitment, I highly doubt he will outsource his dedication to his fans (most of his customers) and his great designs.

Cheers.

I thank you too for your exellent post Idaho my friend. You are right on everything.
I recently received an e-mail from someone that told me that he will make me stop selling my products because he will make a lot of clones out there. I answered him that if he make me stop making GG series then he will not be able to copy me again

This is one of the funniest things I have heard in a while. Even if for some odd reason you never got another NEW customer your existing customer's could probably keep you in business for years even if you didn't make anything new. Add new stuff and I think you will be fine.

Its not the first silly e-mail that I receive fright. I would need a whole day to tell you about all silly e-mails I have received all those years from strange or bad people. I dont bother myself any more but I posted this because it was a fresh one

Geez . . . I have the 3 GG vendor sites staked out in hopes of catching the next preorder for the Ithaka.

- Andy

Guessing that preorder will be a while. However there should be a couple spares going to the vendors so I would get on the notification lists for cov and sub to the gg talk thread in their sub forum

Anyone know anywhere else to get those ready wires? CoV doesn't seem to have them. I have a little welder coming but wanted to move to ready wires in the meantime... I'm finding myself changing my coils more often now, and I'm just getting frustrated twisting so many wires (especially now that I'm twisting 2 coils each time!)
