Hi follow gg vapors
I have a hard time getting a steady ohm when i use silver from esmoke guru as no/res wires. The ohm will travel up and down, as low as 2.1 up to 4.9 ohm. I can only check the ohm on my provari. I have no problem when i use standard nic as no/res wire. I also see when i pull the wire out, that the silver no/res wire has turned black. It fires fine and vapor is good, but taste is a bit muted. I have tried alot of times now and still same result. The ohm will steady a bit over time, but it still travel alot.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like your silver might be dirty/oxidized try cleaning the wires with iso alch after making and retest (preferably with a meter).

Can you measure with out the mouth piece installed? Your coil might be touching it causing your erratic readings.

All the previous talk on wicks, I thought I would set up my Ithaka as I did before Bishop taught me how to do the X.
I forgot how easy and efficient it was. This is a 3mm stacked wick (credit to my buddy Scott). I cut the shorties down to the width of the ceramic after install. This method allows the coils to cover more surface area and wick to cover the mouth of the ceramic to produce a bit more vapor. I'm now having issue deciding which method to use.

Don't screw the ceramic housing in so tight. That will cause the center pin to go off center. You just need to screw it in until you feel a little resistance. That way, the o-ring will be sealed and not deformed.

Its the same without mouth piece. I will try cleaning the wire, as Shak wrote, to see if that helps.
Thanks gtbb
I will just torch the wire as it will clean and get the spring out of the wire so that as you wrap it stays.

1) Does this only happen on the Ithaka? What about other builds on different atty's?
2) Are you able to measure the ohms with a multimeter before install without issue?
3) Does this happen when you measure ohms after install in the rebuildable part before you add tank and mouthpiece?

Sorry if you have mentioned any of this as I am comin in on the ... end of it and honestly to lazy right now to look. :)
This may narrow your search.

Hi ida
1) i tried to attach the wire to a gp spheroid, same result.

2) sorry dont have a multimeter (will get me one soon)

3) yes i always test ohm before i add tank and mouth piece.

I have no problems using nic as no/res wire. Can it happen because of a small break on the silver wire at the junktion point? The silver wire is very thin, about 0.15mm i think.
