The ekowool has been holding up for me along with the silica. No trouble with it wicking. I'm currently only running it at 1.4ohms though at 3.7 to 3.8v. I was recently warned against using the nextel wick the xs 116 and 118 due to its unknown safety. I have some but haven't researched it any further to decide if I'd continue to use it or not.

Well the xs-116/118 is not ceramic...it's silica. It's just braided like ekowool. You're thinking xc-116 which is its ceramic brother. Xc-116 is safe if its properly treated(sizing burned off) according to the manufacturers specs sheet which is a very specific method of treating it in a kiln. What i buy is kiln treated. As far as health concerns, I have more concerns with silica than braided ceramic.

better screw it as hard as you can so center pin will not get unscrewed when you unscrew the ceramic housing from the base cl. What you have to do is to align the center pin like I did on my video:)
Don't screw the ceramic housing in so tight. That will cause the center pin to go off center. You just need to screw it in until you feel a little resistance. That way, the o-ring will be sealed and not deformed.

Hi ida
1) i tried to attach the wire to a gp spheroid, same result.

2) sorry dont have a multimeter (will get me one soon)

3) yes i always test ohm before i add tank and mouth piece.

I have no problems using nic as no/res wire. Can it happen because of a small break on the silver wire at the junktion point? The silver wire is very thin, about 0.15mm i think.

Silver is soft and your joints are not stable. Don't look elsewhere. Get yourself some nickel or make better joints.

My friend A has the answer! ^

Lightly torch the NR-R joints to melt silver and fuse wires.

I haven't cleaned it. I know with kayfun and other atomizers if you don't clean it gives weird taste, but with Ithaka i didn't. But if you don't want to risk it, some soap and rinse with water should do the trick. Maybe mine were extra clean.

success!!!!!!!!!

wasn't as hard as i was anticipating!

the ready wires are short, and i barely had enough room to wrap the end of the wire, i used a piece of cardboard that cam with the wire to hold it in place when i secured them to the post. broke the first wire trying to adjust it. better luck with the 2nd.
glad i had previously asked how to adjust the connection post. i was disappointed when it read 9.9, but realized the connection wasn't being made. got it to 1.9-2.0ohm on my (technically) 2nd attempt!

question: in the video, Imeo screws the little hole (feeding hole) over the threading so that it is not exposing the wick. what is the benifit of doing or not doing this? i am not sure if it is wicking well (possibly because i am using 2 3mm silica wicks) as the first few pulls were very harsh. after a few it seems to have dissipated mostly.
and is there a way to change this option after it has already been filled?

i should have used a juice that i am familiar with, the one i chose i have never vaped so how am i supposed to compare the taste!?
to switch flavors, when this is empty, should i rinse it all and dry burn the wick?
lastly, and this i think i already know the answer to, is the bottom adjustable ring simply for airflow?

the little hole is the basic feeding. If you have a liqud thin enough, or your setup allows it, you can use the basic feeding to keep feeding your wicks even if your liquid control is closed. It also helps to finish the last drop of liquid. If you can't get satisfying results from basic feeding, close it and use only the mouthpiece to control liquid.

Rinsing and dry burn works for changing liquids, but really it all depends on the liquid.

The ring is only for airflow, unless you find a better use for it :D. But always remember, airflow works hand in hand with liquid control. if your air is wide open, you need a bigger inhale to ensure liquid is sucked up. You will find your sweet spot, don't worry.

EDIT: By the way, I also started vaping the day my son was born. My wife considered it cheating by moving to vaping, but I consider it an upgrade :D

Thanks AA!!!
wifey is happy i quit, but scared by all the little bottles of poison (juice) and my 'obsession' with vaping and gear has not caused her to be a fan. he was the motivation and the only thing that ever worked as enough incentive to quit.

ok, more questions now. how do i control liquid with the mouth piece!?
can i change the basic feeding after its been filled, or do i need to wait till i finish off the tank?

with 50/50 juice, and a single coil, should i have the basic feeding open or closed?

and thank you again for your input!!

you just turn the mouthpiece to open it or close it. experience with small half turns at a time.

After filling you cannot change basic feeding. you have to disassemble.

50/50 juice i am not sure, you have to try. even similar ratios juices have different consistencies, but i am mostly using over 75% VG so i cannot tell.

Ok, I'll have to give a watch tonight. I've not had any problems yet, though.

Need help regarding wicking problems after refilling Ithaka.
I'm using double coil X configuration with 3mm fiber, 50:50 juice with basic feeding closed.
I've tried closing the top nut in every possible way with LC fully closed and still have wicking issues.
Before this juice I was using pure VG juice with no problems even though the setup is the same.
What is the best way to close the top nut for the right pressure to build up in the tank?

I'm having an issue with the o ring under the top cap. It's so tight around the mouthpiece that it is very hard to turn the mouthpiece to adjust juice control. Any fixes out there for this?

I use Silicon Grease (plumbing supplies in your local hardware store.) on all of my o-rings, but most people use Vaseline to lubricate. You could also try going to a size thinner o-ring. By my measurements the one I have is 14mm x 2.5mm. You could try a 14mm x 2mm to loosen it up a hair.

Put some vaseline around the inner side of the o-ring.
Or some e-juice if you don't have vaseline.
