28 or 30 is the wire I use with true micros. But I don't use the true micro coils on ithaka only because I haven't managed to get the joints to stay stable the way I like to vape. I have to setup the X formation. And my welder is acting up. Running in parallel, I get a harsher vape than I care for.
What I pictured is not a micro by definition. It's a straight dual with premade wires that I can rethread the cotton into easily.

Ok, thanks for your input bud! Yeah I see ur point with not being able to replace the cotton easily. I think I'll try a single Micro first & see what happens.... Can't wait for it to get here:)!

When you make the single micro, try going corner to corner since you are doing single. It'll stay right above the air hole. So if you're looking down at the rebuildable, top left ceramic channel to bottom right metal. If you keep that toward the middle you can thread two strands through and feed each channel or feed one strand and part them in half.

Time to change 100% cotton yarn in my Ithaka (after 3 tanks), iteresting thing is that the cotton wicks seems to be ok, but micro coil (28 AWG) was dirty due the liquid. Easy task: pull out the old cotton wicks, burn the coil to clean it, insert new cotton yarn wicks and mount it.

Coils is Kanthal 28AWG, 8-9 turns around a jewelry screw, around 1.3 ohms.

The old cotton yarn wicks and the cotton yarn spool:

New cotton yarn wicks installed (two wicks passed through the coil) :

No wicking problems, no gurgling, amazing flavor, good vapor production because the coil is just above the air intake.

Definitely a must try.

Whoa. Is that all cotton dropping from the base wrapping around? No wonder it wicks so well.

:D

I've been using rolled cotton on dual micros and it works great but all you guys raving about these cotton wicks makes me really wanna try them, just need to find a place here in the UK that sells them.

By the way Ariel have you always gone with 1 coil or have you tried dual? If yes have you noticed any difference?

I'll guess when the Pene' will arrive I'll give this cotton one more go.
Now that I think again maybe Boba's was not good choice to try cotton.
Not becouse of the wick properties, but because it bring notes from the flavore I did not like.
The tobaco base was too Identifiable ( stand out and not fully bland)
didn't want that too much separate flavors and wet/humid taste for a tobaco vape.
I prefer them somewhat dry,and more bland, the same will be I think for Elkamino and Deadly Sin from GLV.
But as an after thought it may be just the thing for other flavors that wetness and humid add
Are more welcome for them to my liking.
As some GLV's fruit and candy fruit flavores. Like Zombie brain(forget the name it's a very pleasant vape with menthol)
Or Melon boba.
Just a thought,will see.

Not in this regards Yankee,
but I'm sure you can figure what I wanted to say.
You're sharp mind as It gets lol.
And very fast to help for some one in needs.

But just to clear this one I'll put in some Analog:
It's like .... with a bit of lemon, the taste is familiar but you'll never
Get to creat the exact taste by your self, becous there are more ingredients the manufacture
Corp trow in,to make us come back for more.

I tried a lot of e juices, but found very little I enjoy to vape.(like many others)
The thing with the Boba's was not day and night change of taste,it was more subtle
And not welcome, little more separation to the different flavores.
I did not like the change for the few hours I vaped it,as it make some stand out more then I like.
Taste is very subjective thing,so there is no point to convince someone in something he can't taste for himself.
But taste is somthing that do change and maybe for other flavore it will work better.
I do try never to close my mind on fix points of views and listen to what other have to say all the time.
In a way more or less it's somthing that all this forum members share in common.
as if it was other wise we were still runing the Provari with a Vivi Novas.:)

Oh believe me. I love Bobas. I've eased off it and seen the price go up. But I still have about 50ml of good steeped juice. And as for Bobas, there's a thread of people dedicated to trying to figure out what's in it. It's almost funny to read some of those guesses because it goes to show someone JUST how subjective a flavor blend can be.

Ya now those miles long threads year or year and a half back.
It's one of those that taste different on on different days and different coils.
And it taste different on different wattage.
More full and dry on lower wattage more sweet an less complex on higher Wattage ( subjectively of course)
I my self prefer the first one more on this.
But I never actually could taste the tobaco,it is always blended fully with the other notes.
I don't now why but the cotton wick very good so it's never got this end dryness of the how to put it?
Semi desert notes?? Damn I breaking my Thoth on this try to determine Boba's flavors on English lol
It's beyond me.
But as I said I'll give another go maybe beginning with juice I care less.
Boba's is my holy grail of e juices so I'm a bit thick headed regarding to any change in the flavor
For this one.

I have been wondering about the Ithaka update. Is this going to be an update to Ithaka that will make it a v2 where new buyers of the Ithaka basically get it all included for the same price which would lead original owners to have to buy this upgrade for additional money? That would look like original Ithaka owners will pay more for what new Ithaka buyers would get.

I think it's pretty safe to say that everyone's going to pay extra.
