Tee6395,
I stopped analogs 9/21/10 so I guess about 3 weeks ago. I still feel like a newbie but there is so much information on this site I am more comfortable with vaping now. I printed off some stuff to give to a couple of my doctors I saw 10 days ago and they were very impressed with the e-cig. They were going to print off some copies for their other smoking patients. What sealed if for me as far as analogs go was my oxygen saturation level went from 90% to 95% in just under 2 months, and I had only been vaping for about 10 days at that point.
I am using a Tornado with a 650 battery and e-juice with 24mg/ml. I don't have any "cravings" for an analog, in fact the thought of the taste makes me nauseous. I always smoked menthol because I didn't like the taste of tobacco. I was at one point a pack and a half per day smoker. With cigs running $7.85 per pack here I was forced to ration them to 10 per day. I did the vape and analog for a couple of weeks and found some flavors of e-juice I love in the nic level I need and quit the analogs. I have been a vaping maniac since then but that is also slowing down as my body adjusts. I never had a "smokers cough" even after I quit the analogs, I did cough for less than a week but that was my lungs getting rid of some junk. Now I don't cough, didn't get zits, have enough nicotine to keep me vaping and I am much happier. Best of all I do not smell like an ashtray anymore. I had to throw out my toothbrush though and get a new one because it tasted like a cig...YUCK!
So hang in there. This is such new technology and more and more people are turning to vaping everyday, soon you will feel like a veteran. I too am more addicted to the act of smoking as the patch, the gum, the lozenges and even Chantix didn't keep me from wanting to smoke, until now. I am happy to be analog free. You should be proud of yourself if you can vape with 0 nicotine. I know I am not even close to that. I may vape for the rest of my life but it sure beats analogs all the way around. Especially once you have the initial cost of the e-cig, the "e-juice" is pretty inexpensive in comparison.
You'll make it and be healthier for sure. Best of luck and Happy Vaping!
