So, am I to believe that there was never a brave and heroic Captain Crunch who led his men through the high seas and on to victory? What about Count Chocula???? There was a Count Chocula. ..I'm sure of it.

I believe Captain Crunch served under Nelson during the Neapolitan Campaign. Will have to dust off a few books when I get home.

There was a real "Captain Crunch", but he got his name from the cereal.
Famous phreaker from the golden era of telecommunications.

He was hacking phone systems before the internet existed.
    Very very interesting guy.

Most names are chosen because they have to be unique for trademark purposes.
Some are real words, like "Aspire" or "Pinnacle".
Some are made up words, like "Kanger" and "Iolite".
Some are real words in other languages, like "Erlkönigin" (Elf Queen) and "Taifun" (Typhoon).
Some are spin-offs on other brand names, like "Kayfun" or "Kangpro".

I'm far more irritated by incorrect word usage like vapor when it's aerosol, mod for something that isn't a modification but a battery, or steeping for aerating. It's as ignorant as calling a computer case a "CPU" or "hard drive". I realize that the battle to avoid the words vaporizing/vaping is already lost, and that unless the FDA or FTC strikes down on it as deliberate misrepresentation, people will continue to be conned into thinking it's "just vapor" when it isn't. But the rest of them, I will continue to fight hard against.

A kanger (Kashmiri: कांगर (Devanagari), کانگر (Nastaleeq); also known as kangri or kangar or kangir)is a pot filled with hot embers used by Kashmiris beneath their traditional clothing to keep the chill at bay, which is also regarded as a work of art.

Kangertech is one of the oldest ecig companies starting in 2007.

    Iolite:

Sometimes called a water emerald, iolite is the gemstone form of cordierite. This is a magnesium, iron, aluminium cyclosilicate that most often occurs in agillaceaus rocks, but is also found in granite, pegmatites and norites. When the stone is transparent, it has a value as gemstone and it ceases being cordierite and is termed iolite.

The name comes from the Greek word for violet to describe its characteristic colouration. Despite this, the gem does show very strong pleochroism, or the ability to have different colours or hues depending on the light. That is why many iolites can be sapphire blue, blue violet, yellowish grey or light blue depending on how the light changes and falls on the gemstone.

Kayfun in Russian is pronounced kaif-oon (кайфун). The word kaif is slang for rush, rewarding experience, high, pleasure, bliss, etc.

Fun fact: searching the who is directory will bring up several hits for people named Kay. Fun
