The prodigy landed on my doorstep today - I loaded the batteries in - slapped on an atty, and couldn't wait for that first hit.....

OH MAN, I'M SIMPLY BLOWN AWAY!!!

Tumulous clouds of vapor - a hit so massive I can feel it all the way to the lungs - and on a 4mg liquid!!!!!

WOW! This was well worth the nail-biter pre-order drama!

Mind you, as always - this is the first impression, and all the spark and excitement of a new toy are evident in this post - I will continue to update this thread as I 'get to know' this new, bad boy of a PV.... but first impressions - AWESOME!!!

Potential downsides

- it's big.....about an inch longer than the stick, without the atty attached, and not at all able to conceal in a hand....
- I will have to find some other way to transport it - there's no way it's going to fit in my existing case.
- it's round - and will roll.... something I didn't like with the SD, but the switch positioning might keep it from rolling full-tilt off a flat surface. (note - I'm NOT going to let it roll off the table just to find out!!!)
- it's lighter than I expected it to be, but still heavy enough that I'm not going to be able to hold it in my teeth.
-the bottom battery spring cap is VERY tight - but that's been noted before by others, and it should break in quickly.

Upsides

-I got both the 801 and 901 adapter. Using it with the 801 currently (I love the larger carts).
-unit came with both a cord for the wall for charging, and a cord for an automobile adaptation - should I want to haul charger and spare batts, I can charge in the car.

Vicks has a new toy - more to come later!

Bliss is nice, isn't it??

I'm picturing Vicks doing the mounds bar mix with the power of the prodigy! Life is good sometimes.

Enjoy Vicks!!

BTW, Nhaler leaked that they are coming out with thier own mod that will be called the Xhaler, that's going to be half the cost of the stuff that's out there. I'm gonna live with what I have till I see what that's about, before I take the plunge, but a good mod seems like a must have for the vaping affectionado.

So you think it beats the screwdriver, Vicks??

I am sooo excited for you!!
I can't wait to see it live, and even more, I can't wait for continuing reports on how it's doing.

Do you think it's going to be primarily a 'vape at home' model, or would you comfortable enough to do it in a box, with a fox on the rocks?

Yaaaahhhh Vicks!

BTW; you mentioned it's about an inch longer than the stick. How much around would you say it compares? (yes; I know the stick is more square, but I can use imagination LOL)

Vape it for me Vicks

Will do, yknox - what flavor would you like me to load in it for ya?

So far, tops the SD in a big way, Harmony - the SD is a 3.7volt battery, the Prod is a 5volt.... huge differences in taste, heat, and, I'm hoping longevity.

The prodigy is the same circumfrence as a nickel - and I can't wait to show it off to all you guys.... it's going to be fun taking this one out and about - it's certainly NOT a concealable device - so I'm sure I'm gonna get interesting looks.

BTW - it went with me to the restaurant last night, and I sat in a non-smoking section..... I started vaping with the stick cupped in my hand, stealth mode - but in the end I did take a couple of draws off the prod....slowly, slowly, I'll work up the comfort level of TRYING to draw attention to myself in public with this bad boy.

It does run very hot - but I take enormous draws - about a 10 second average pull before I inhale, on all my gear. From what I understand, this is not standard, so keep that in mind as I do the review. With this power-pulling, I can get a good 5-6 continual draws off the thing before it literally gets too hot to vape. So, I won't be able to use it as a pacifier at night :(.

more later

The gloss has worn off - that first giddy blush of love has faded to a distant memory....

The prod is still a good, solid device - don't get me wrong.... but I have no real will to change my draw style to suit it - and the 5-6 good draws are not enough! I'm also afraid, with all the power running through it, that if I push any harder, I'll start french-frying my attys....

So - This is assuredly a mixed review at this stage in the game.... It is a solid piece, no doubt about it, but it is NOT for me - irregardless of the vapor production and solid hits to lung and throat..... simply because I can't use it the way I want to.

Because of the position of the prod in my arsonal - the batteries last 2 days on a charge - a heavier user would probably charge every day.

Because of the voltage running through the atty, I'm extremely hesitant to try the 901's on it - in fact, haven't done so, yet.

At this point, I'm seriously debating wether or not to return it, or put it up for sale on the classifieds, or keep it as a secondary device - that's how far the mighty has fallen.

Damn, I wish there was a way to try all the mods so I could find one to look forward to. My M401 is still my favorite unless I just want to throw out larger plumes of tasteless vapor - then I can use my 510. lol

I really want something that can give both.

YKnot - if you want large plumes of good tasting vapor - look to the Janty Stick..

Are you saying it's TOO Powerful? You are not use to it yet? I'm a little confused BUT I still Love MY 'Stick'

That is exactly what I'm saying - too powerful.....it pumps a ton of voltage through the atty. They get extremely hot with continued use. Too much voltage, and I'm afraid that the wire will get too hot - and pfth! French fried attys.

And YKnot - the attys for the stick right now are the 901's and 801's. I do know that Janty is planning on making more adapters soon.

So, basically, you are like me and there are times (ok; a lot of times) that you just need to take longer than a 10 sec. drag, and with the PD, the atty gets so hot that you're afraid to burn out the atty?

Then too, maybe after time, you will get to the point where you don't want to rely on a PV as much, therefore, taking those 5-6 good draws will give you enough of a fix that you won't need more??

(Look out; I've been shopping today for things I know nothing about, so I'm full of questions....and I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night!)

As of this point in time, would you say that the Stick is still your favorite, followed by the Kissbox?

I was just telling hubby tonight about the Stick and how it basically fits in the palm of your hand...yadda yadda and he thought that was the funniest thing. Told him "the better to vape at the movies with, my dear!" LOL

The stick has been on my mind lately. I went out and saw a friend the other night, and when I realized I was holding my 510 a little over the top - basically hiding the LED so it didn't draw any attention (I really wanted to have an uninterupted conversation with my friend), I realized that maybe something more like a stick would be right up my alley for those occations.

I've beem really rooting for the PD with the whole "Rah Rah America-Capitalist-build a better mouse trap" aspect of it all. Then too, like all first drafts, they only get better!

Spot on in the lineup, Mlr - the stick is absolutely unit 1 - my go to PV. I'm to the point where I don't even miss the little cylinder between my fingers when I drive... I've even gotten to the point (although it looks a little funny) that I can hold the stick in my teeth when my hands are busy typing or whatever else....

The Kissbox is still rock-solid reliable, and is in position 2....in fact, I pulled it out last night when I was at the movie, so I wouldn't have to cup the LED - much easier to stealth vape in the theatre with the KB. lol

The Prod comes out sometimes in the car, sometimes at night.... doggedly, I think I'll continue to work with it for now to see if I can get the attraction up..... maybe...... yea, right, OK. the jury's still out as I continue to waffle over the decision - hehehe

What I like to do, especially in the car and at night at home, is chain-vape. I pretty much hit my gear continually - that's why I go with the low nic formulas - I'm more interested in the taste and the sensations (throat hit, exhale, ahhhhh) than I am in the nic. My next batch of DIY I think I'm actually going to bite the bullet and try nic-free - just to see...
But, as for giving up the PV's - no, I don't see myself giving them up.... not even when the FDA pries them from my cold, dead hands!

Why do I hear that quote from Braveheart??? "You can take my freedom, but you'll never take, my, STIIIIIIIIICK!!!!"

I'm a little confused with the stick. What attys will it all work with? If it can work with my M401 or 510s I might be a happy camper.

Sorry about that, Yknot - guess you got hidden behind Vick's plume! LOL

Here's the link about the Stick:
JANTY STICK SETS JANTY STICK V2

I've seen Vicks, and it's a cute lil' thing; fits right in the palm of your hand!

The link says that right out of the box, it will work with any pen style atty (I think that would be the 401?), and they currently have adaptors that you can add so you can also use it with the 901 atty, and soon they will be adding an adaptor for the 510s.

WOW; a 6 month warrentee with the atty that comes with the stick? Too bad the PD didn't come with that to ease the fear of fizzing out your atty, eh Vicks!

Yah; the more I'm thinking about it, the more interested I'm getting. Especially for as fast as they got the V2 out to tweet the original problems.
