I've Heard That Tobacco Blends Are The Hardest To Perfect

I've tried quite a few store bought tobacco blends and never really found one that quite hit the spot. Indigo came the closest to the ones I've tried.

Surely someone has some insight on a base(s) and additives to achieve a natural tasting tobacco liquid. I'm still smoking 5-6 cigarettes a day...but then that's a lot better than the pack and a half I was smoking. I keep trying to figure out exactly what I'm tasting with the analogs. Granted the taste is funkier that it use to be since I started vaping but I just can't seem to get my nicotine fix from vaping.

Part of me wants to try to come up with a combo of flavors that replicate a real analog and on the other hand...if I could just figure out how to get the same nicotine satisfaction from a juice I could definitely live without the analogs. I've made some progress, when I first started vaping I thoroughly hated any juice that wasn't dry tasting.

I still have a dislike for fruit/dessert juices. Lately I've found myself liking the cream flavors (sweet/whipped cream) with a subtle hint of natural sweetness....

So to make a long story longer...any suggestions for a tobacco base and complimenting flavors for that dry, crappy, burnt ashtray taste.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I'm still searching for that perfect tobacco flavor. I have two recipes that are basically all day vapes for me, on from a friend, doctored just a little by me, and one I developed myself. In the mean time, another friend introduced me to El Toro Minotaur and Cigarillos. They are both outstanding! Part of their "secret" is that they steep in oak barrels and use tobacco leaves in the mix while steeping. Since I don't have ready access to tobacco leaves and oak barrels might be a problem, I don't think I'll be able to duplicate either of them.

Read where plp hate the M-Type from Perfumers Apprentice. I just made up a batch today... I've only made one flavor order from P/A so I don't have a lot to work with...anyway made a 10ml bottle 50/50 pg/vg, 18mg Nic, 2% M-Type, 1% Sweet Cream, 2 drops Smooth...going to let it steep for 3-4 weeks and if it's as awful as the recipe sounds I'll use it to unclog my sink.

thats going to be my problem too!!! im doing and loving cotton candy which should not be hard for me to mix when i start real soon..but the other flavor i get from the juice store i go to id their sweet d blend...they used to call it sweet camel but changed the name so they would not get into legal problems..its mild..average throat hit..but i almost think they sweeten it with honey..sometimes i can taste it..so that juice i think is going to be a tough one to make.i going to keep nosing around here for some ideas on a few recipes to try!!

When I first started vaping, I bought pre-made juice from a local shop, momandpopvaporshop. Their RY4's and Tobacco Haze/Tobacco Praze were so delicious that they sealed the deal on vaping and helped me close the door on cigarettes forever. They also sell these as pre-mixed concentrates, just add them to your unflavored base and youve got an instant realistic tobacco flavor. I wouldnt say I try to clone their creations, but their level of expertise, and the idea of what a good tobacco recipe is supposed to taste like is something I strive to achieve in all my recipes to this day.

Try them...

El Toro Cult

Said to be the best stuff there is, but pe prepared to be patient - even more patient than waiting for these order from 'fast'tech --- they're almost always sold out and the waiting list is longer than a spoiled brats x-mas wishlist.

Haven't tried them meself yet, got off analogs and currently enjoying the variety of non-tobacco based flavours way too much. But I'll check 'em out to eventually.

Besides the recommendations mentioned, you need to check out Inawera, flavorings from Poland. They make a 'dirty' base that's suppose to replicate the ashy taste you may be looking for.

.............. I keep trying to figure out exactly what I'm tasting with the analogs. Granted the taste is funkier that it use to be since I started vaping but I just can't seem to get my nicotine fix from vaping. ..............

What equipment are you using? A few months back I tried a ss mesh device and got the first nic buzz I'd had in a couple years of vaping. I wound up not liking ss because of the heat buildup and resulting flavor changes so I went to a kayfun clone and got my second nic buzz within a few weeks. Equipment can make a difference.

Here's some other general tips. You might be doing some or all of them already.

Run two different nic levels. Vape the high in the morning and when you get an urge for a ciggy. Maybe even three different levels if you need a really weak one for beddy bye time.

Lift your tongue a little on inhale. Since you have some taste buds under there it gets them involved for added flavor plus increases the surface area of you mouth for nic absorption.

Get the nose involved also by exhaling through your nose some and also leak a little vapor out of your mouth and inhale through the nose.

I don't enjoy holding the vapor in for some reason but for anyone that does, that can help also. I do slow my exhale down though which probably helps some.

I think the biggest thing may be in keeping your mind on flavor and upper lung sensation rather than fixating on getting the nic urge satisfied. Vaping is a little slower than cigs, but not all that much.

The real cig from VZ is good. Mix at about 1.5% to start.

I like the american red from WL. It's also good as a mixer with others like hansen. It gets mixed reviews though and altho he wound up not liking it, I think Calivapr123 summed it up pretty good. It's $1.49 at WL so worth a test if you're already ordering from WL.

Well this is what I make my other half, he likes a dry non sweet tobacco - I would guess that a drop or 2 per 10ml of toasted almond may add that dry/ burny-ness you are hunting for (you may also prefer a different pg/vg - I do 40/60)

Ingredient %
Nicotine juice 12.5
PG dilutantc 12.5
VG dilutant 60
Acetyl Pyrazine (TPA) 3
Smooth Flavor (TPA) 5
TFA Tobacco Blend 2 (I prefer .5% absolute but I have adjusted my recipe as thats so hard to get now)

A lot of smokers can't seem to get rid of those last few cigs, and have found that vaping a juice
with "Whole-Tobacco-Alkaloids"does the trick.
These guys use ALL of the alkaloids in the tobacco instead of just extracting the nicotine only.
You can check out the site and read about them here.

Whole Tobacco Alkaloid WTA Eliquid Ejuice

There's also some threads on this forum with lots of info about "Aroma"
I admit the "search" kinda sucks, but it will get you there.

Just write him (Clark) and ask "when" ?
He's a really cool guy and about as helpful as you can find.
Explain what your looking for, just like you did when starting this thread, and he may offer some suggestions

It's so popular that when he gets a batch up, it's gone in hours.
But that's what everyone uses that's into DIY, or they wish to cut a juice.

Pick a tobacco flavor and read the reviews, you may want to try one.
All of his juices have WTA's in them, ...
That's what his juice flavors are ... WTA nicotine, and flavoring

The "Aroma" line is 70PG/30VG, and the "Red Tail" line is 80VG/20PG

I know lots of vaper have used the WTA juices to get over the hump.
Good Luck

Actually, the guy behind aromaejuice.com is named Jerry, not Clark. Aroma has been producing more WTA lately, and they've been putting new stock up at least weekly. Yes, it does go fast, and for good reason. It can be had elsewhere for less, but in my quite admittedly biased opinion, Aroma is the way to go.

I second the hangsen recommendations. A simple blend of 6-7% hangsen highway and 1-2% AP is outstanding. It's not ashy but awful good. One of my favorites in a dripper.

I've vaped all kinds of different flavors but I've grown to love HS tobaccos above all. Very complex and addicting flavors. I mix for a handful of friends and they are hooked too. Anyone searching for a tobacco flavor should try HS. Very few who do don't like them
