So since those Nautilusi are sposed to be All That, I figured WTH, I'll swing over to the YouTuber and check out any Aspire BVC coil rebuilds. I'm not getting any tank who's coils are a PIA to rebuild. (The wrap inside the
shroud of the Eleaf GS coils IS an added pain, but one with a Great improvement in coil life. I can live with that extra fiddliness.)

First, the 2 vids I found sucked, unlike most of the Evod/PT/Aero rebuild vids I've seen.

Then I noticed the same thing I saw in the Aspire BDC rebuilds. Apparently, and I personally have to take
the presenters word for this, you can't separate the two major pieces of the housing without using a
punch and knock out block dealie.

You know, Screw That. Homey ain't playin' that game.

That's just unnecessary fiddliness. I don't like using a knock out block to knock fountain pen nibs out and
I damn sure don't wanna have to do that with coils.

If I can't separate the shroud from the coil base with a damn pair of needlenose, I ain't playin'

So there. ;)

Rebuilding a $2 coil aint a bicycle I ride either......:2cool:

I usually have the eye hand acuity of a 3 toed sloth. Don't EVEN ask me how I manage to work on fountain pens. That even baffles Me. I was surprised to pick up rebuilding coils so easily.

The kicker on coil rebuilds is You can easily build a Much Better coil than the factory one. An Evod with a vent hole drilled out, with a decent hand wound rebuild coil and cotton wicking puts out a stupefying amount of vapor from such a small unit. MUCH more than stock for basically free.

I can work with fiddliness to a degree. It's UNNECESSARY fiddliness that makes me foam at the mouth. It's Unnecessary that the Aspires take the effort to separate they do.

Bruce in Ocala, Fl-yeah and watching bad news on crappily done vids probably amped me up a bit too ;)

Think so?

I would love to see you try to build a better dual vertical coil than Freemax has done. See if you can hand wrap and wick a dual vertical subohm coil that lasts more than a month vaping 100% VG at 60+ watts.

As for the Nautilus coils, I seriously doubt you could make much improvements if any to those as well. They've already got cotton wicking so you can't really do anything more than replace it with the same, you can't do much in the way of changing the coil diameter without either taking away wicking material or reducing the airflow, both of which would be bad, and I doubt you could change the resistance much if at all without either burning the wicking up or causing a lot of juice spitting. An Evod is an ancient tank with an ancient coil design, the Aspire BVC coils are still pretty new and are pretty much pushing the limits of what can be done with a head unit that small.

Ugh, yeah, I do. I KNOW so on the Evods and I trust member Cheech who did the first GS coil rebuild vid when he says his rebuilds
beat factory. Hell, he rebuilds Brand Damn New never used coils. That should tell you something.

The factory Evod coils are garbage compared to what I can rebuild. The ... cotton and larger, Much Better Wound coil (and the
air vent hole drilled out) make vapor you would Never Guess is from an Evod.

I can't imagine what would possess you to interject a coil I wasn't even discussing in the discussion with my post. Still I would bet that Every Single Factory Coil on earth can be wound better by us, by hand, taking our time, than by some auto winding machine.

Factor Evod coils are the most simple and basic coils in the world.

Nautilus coils are entirely different in almost every way. They are NOTHING like Evod coils and just because you can build really simple coils that doesn't mean you're capable of building complex ones.

And as for you building better coils than Freemax... ROFLMAO!!! If you're still living in an Evod world you have no clue and no hope.

How many wires do you see at the top of that coil? Two, right? And how much space do you see in between each wrap? A pretty good amount of space, right? So, you've got to wrap two wires side by side in a spaced vertical coil without the two wires touching each other and without crushing the coils together, then you have to mount it vertically and pack the cotton wicking around the outside of the coil and inside the housing, all without deforming or moving either wire.

Glad to hear you can wrap Evod coils anyways. Best you stick to them. Your experience with coils beyond the Evod is severely lacking.
