I think I bought mine somewhere at the beginning of this year.
Already got the problem after a week or two. Which was my second, since the first one had a screen that was at a 30 degree angle. Over time I have learned to open the battery door at such an angle, so 9 out of 10 times the magnets don't come loose. The 10th time is always a bummer, though. But I've finally gotten super glue, so I might as well fix it now. :D

I'll chase noises and other strange and detectable faults. I learned auto repair from a Chilton's auto repair manual ($50 in 1969). I wore it out and the pages showed dark stains over time! It kept a '56 Chevy Bel Air, a '65 Mustang Fastback, and an '67 Olds 442 going in style during my Teen and early Twenties years!

These days I tend to buy new and trade at the end of 3-4 years.
Exactly right. Whether it's my body or my car or my Mac, if there's a new noise or vibration or twinge, then there's something amiss. Figure it out before it turns into a disaster.

Any thoughts on why a tank misbehaves on the JAC but is fine on a different mod (SX Mini SL)? The JAC is fine with another identical tank (a Zenith with an .8 ohm coil) but with the other all is gurgling and labored inhalation.

The moral of the story is, don't be an idiot.

Words to live by.

I've had sporadic issues with sporadic mods making connections with sporadic atties.

It's why I greatly prefer an adjustable 510 pin over a spring loaded one, but the former are difficult to come by these days (on regulated mods). I own just three, and I'll never let them go.

So the tank probably just has some weird little quirk that the JAC can't handle but the Mini and . . . checking . . . the Kroma can. I guess the JAC is a fussy little prince. As long as it's not a broken little prince, that's fine.

Adjustable 510 pins make sense to me. Too bad they've fallen out of fashion.

Sounds like the JAC'x 510 center pin isn't making connection with the tank's center pin.

You could try tightening the tank on tighter, but that practice might not be a good one routinely. I had that happen trying a new tank on my JAC, and tightening it (tighter than I normally would) did allow it to work.

Surely that would stress the JAC's pin, @Baditude? I'd hate to hurt it. No, I'll just use the tricky tank on the mods that can take it and give the JAC the tanks it wants. (I know it's generally a bad idea to cater to a spoiled child, but I'll make an exception here.)

If I look really hard, I can usually find another tank to use.

Eggrolls are sometimes a challenge, so I just swap the coils (when it happens). For those most part, that's it (that give me issues on JACs). I think maybe one Erlklone too, but I'm not sure.

Yeah, it this case, I'll spare the rod (so to speak).

My problem is that, for now, I'm using Zeniths exclusively, so it's a matter of finding with which the JAC will play nicely. I already know it likes a couple of them, and I'll probably put a dot of nail polish on the one it hates so I can easily keep it away from my little primo don.

Um.. with the zenith, the connection is in the COIL. not the tank. Make sure your coil is seated correctly (I've had that happen once) but it's not the tank that is the problem, but the coil

Maybe you would do better with one resistance or another IDK.

Anna

:thumb: "Prezactly" (as Kitty would say). That's the issue with the eggies too.

The mods are relevant, to a degree, as I only experience it with the JACs and the P3 connector Provis (never with the older versions). I expect the same holds true with other mods that I don't use, but I don't use them so I don't know about it.

Oh, of course. I'm a big dummy. I know they're two separate things. I should've realized it was wrong to blame the tank. I will apologize to it.

I did reseat the coil more than once yesterday, by the way, and it made no difference. But at least the tank will likely be fine on the JAC when I eventually replace the coil. That's good. Thank heaven I hadn't applied the nail polish yet!

New subject: I bought a bunch of the wrong magnetic adapters because I didn't study the specs carefully enough (the adapters are micro-USB to 8-pin, rather than micro-USB). That's the equivalent of a couple of boxes of Zenith replacement coils down the drain. Rats.

Can't send them back, or is it too late?

Does the Zenith have an adjustable pin by any chance? I don't have one so I don't know.

I bought them from Fast Tech and just created a ticket (which I should have thought of doing before). I hate the idea of paying return shipping, though.

Beats me (but I doubt it). I bet @stols001 knows for sure, though.

I had a zenith tank and I believe the pin was the bottom of the coil if I remember correctly, so no, not adjustable

Not adjustable, nope. I've had a coil vape okay on one mod and throw a total tantrum on another, so there is some sort of give and take. Mainly, I just try to make sure it is properly seated.

Do not get me started on the "eggrolls' and their adjustable pins, my rear behind they are. They are my most LOVED and hated tank.

If it helps, the problem is NOT the adjustment.... More that I'm not that good at subtle. Adjustment or anything else. LOL.

My JAC is looking kind of shabby. Paint is getting all chipped off

Good morning and...
