After my 1rst day of banging my head against the wall trying to get my Ego to work correctly & posting a somewhat venomous review, I had lunch with a friend that had a Tornado & sold it to him for $50.

I had spent 12 hrs with low vapor & bad taste. I used several of my own attys & the one that came with the Ego,nothing was working ,so I sold it.
I was using liquid that worked fine with my other 510's & my 306's,so it had to be the new Ego batteries. Right ? Apparently not,at least not completely.
My friend called this morning & suggested that I should give it another shot with a different liquid.

I had been waiting for DIY to reopen to reorder my regular juice & had ordered something that was suppose to be similar from another vendor. It was a dark liquid, which I have always had problems with, but seemed to work fine & tasted pretty good,so I figured it would keep me busy until Dawn opened back up.
Well, to make a long story short, either the dark juice don't like the Ego or the Ego don't like dark juice.
My GOOD friend insisted I take it back & try it with a clear liquid(VS Cafe Sumatra) & it works great. I been using it with that since noon,it's wicking fine,no nasty taste & plenty of vapor. So if it holds up to daily use & lasts half as long as long as my 510's & 306's have . .It's the best thing since sliced bread.:D

In my defense of my earlier post, which I erased most of,after a couple curt replies. I'd been 12 hrs without a good nicotine fix & it's the closest I've come to buying a pack of analogs in all most 10 months. I was breaking down & I was on a rant. I've said numerous times that I would never use tobacco again & I was freaking.

Those weird pre-filled carts were just the icing on the cake. I thought "maybe it will work with the carts that came with" & if they had been regular 510 carts, it would have. I've had carts that were too tight, but I've never had them fall out of the atty.

So, that's my story & I'm sticking to it.

Cheers,
NB

PS: If that ain't enough of an apology, bite me.:D

glad you're liking it too. I just got mine today literally three hours ago and the only thing that worries me about it is the switch doesn't feel as durable as my joye 510. I like the vapor it produces, the sleek look (I got mine in silver), and the battery life a lot. So only a few hours in, but I'm very pleased with it.

I'm glad to read this. I'm sure there may be someone out there who does not have a good experience with the Ego but I have not found them yet. You have a really good friend there. And as far as juice, I totally concur. The extra taste you get from this device definitely amplifies some flavours in a bad way. I have one that wasn't great in a 510 but was still ok. In my Ego, it was horrid! Both of your reviews and some testing has allowed me to realise why this was the case. It's also had me come to the conclusion that some of my juices that were not so great, actually were, I just was not actually tasting them.

Cheers,

I've had the exact same problems with dark liquids and my Tornado and so has a coworker. It really ticks me off. As long as I stick to clear liquids I get tons of vapor and great tastes. As soon as I switch to something with just a little color, it'll slowly loose vapor and after a while the draw will be restricted because of the atty clogging. I can only think it's because of the cone restricting the air and the juices getting slow cooked.

I've also found that dripping with a clear liquid will eventually unclog it and vapor will return. The only clear liquids I have is Halo and with Halo stock problems I'm finding myself trying to find some sort of maintenance vaping schedule to extend my halo. So it's like I'm having 2-3 days of good vapeing days followed by a strictly halo vapeing day to unclog my atty. It's aggravating.

Trust me, I of all people know of the eGo frustration.

I got 2 kits directly from Janty, and thank the gods that I did... I had 2 attys and 4 batteries die on me in less then a month... I got my replacements from Janty last night and then the atty that I have been using while waiting for the replacements went cold... no big deal, it is under warranty for about another 4 months and I have 2 backups...

There is nothing wrong with being upset with a product that does not work as described, I am just lucky that I retained a couple of my 901's and my 2 Kissbox sets I purchased or I would be in analog hell right now... I know I never want to go down that road again.

You mentioned the Cafe Sumatra, I was going to try that next, I have been buying Tasty Vapor for use with my eGo, typically something like pure Caramel, 100%PG or Coffee, Caramel, with 15% VG in it, they are dark and vape very well.

I have used many dark Juices with my eGo and never had a issue with them, Has anyone else had a issue with darker E-Juice before?

I am curious if it was just the Cafe Sumatra, if it was I will avoid that juice like the plague...

Johnson creek was my biggest problem. I don't know what they put in their juices but it'll kill an atomizers ability to produce vapor in no time. I've tried, swiss mocha, original smoke juice and the espresso from them. They took all 3 back and I exchanged them for 3 others and they all had that JC smell to them so I haven't even tried them. With cleaning and dry burning you can get your atties back but it just isn't worth the effort to me.

The Cafe Sumatra is my all time favorite & it's actually the juice that got my Ego up & going. You can't go wrong with Eric's liquids or his service.

Ironically, it was TV's Cappuccino that was the problem for me,a very dark juice, almost black. It tasted fine with my 510 & 306, but with the Ego . . . 3 to 5 drags & I started getting a nasty taste & low vapor production. This happened with over a half dozen attys I had, plus the new one that came with the kit.

Gave them all a good vodka soaking & all work great with the Cafe Sumatra. Except the Janty that came with the kit, it's still giving low vapor production.
