It's funny to me how there is so much talk about a product being a fail without holding or using a product for at least a day. To compare eVic to Janty Mid is absurd because its two very different products that approach vaping very differently. As an owner of an eVic, to me eVic's power restriction makes it a FAIL, regardless of the screen. The versatility of Janty MID promises to be more then just a glorified battery holder, even if you do have to remember the four profiles.

Agreed. Conclusions also shouldn't be drawn from any video "reviews" of the product. The production hardware gives a general idea of what the device is like, but there are still lots of changes in the works.

Also agreed. I understand why the comparison is made, since these are two really advanced vaping devices, but they're very different.

Nevermind the Evic, its a different pv. But the Mid has all these blinking lights - watch the video linked previously. Why wait for it to blink 10 times to tell you your battery voltage is 3.7 volts when you can check it with one click on another pv. I don't want to be standing there counting blinking lights when I check my remaining battery voltage on the fly.

Also, they have sent out pre-production units, and feedback on those is important. The Innokin SVD was very good as a pre-production unit, but they took feedback from reviews on some changes they could make it to make it even better, and incorporated those. Hopefully Janty will do the same. There's room for a screen or numbered wheel - screen would be better IMO - so why not add one. Make it more user friendly.

I don't see whats the big deal. You know I have my ProVeri. The only time I use the OM's check is when I put a new atty/cart on it. Once I set my voltage on it, I don't check it until I put another atty/cart on it. I only check the battery voltage at the end of the day. It tells me when the battery is out, so I don't have to check the battery all the time.

I like the sleek look of the MID, The evic screen looks to big and and ugly. All of the mods look a lot alike and are way to big. It takes a lot of more room to include a big screen and extra buttons, and it looks dumb carrying around a big billy-club sized pv.

All you have to do is take a half an hour and set up the four profiles for four different atty's on the computer, and you don't have to worry about it anymore. Please don't make them change the design. If you want it to look like an evic or a ProVeri clone, just get one of those. Then I hear people saying It should take a 18650 battery, but I like the slimmer design.

Please don't change the design. I LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like to check the ohms when I use RBAs. Or sometimes to check attachments. I don't see why adding a screen would need to make it any bigger - there's room for it already. I like the form factor too - its slim and sleek looking. I think it will get more users if it added a small screen - it doesn't need to make the pv any bigger, and it will still look different.

The issue is really that it relies on blinking lights for everything.

Ok...I normally don't chime in before I post a review...but...

A very slim flexible OLED screen could be added to it. Of course it would raise production costs by about $3-$4 per unit.

I would like to see them add something like the OLED on the DNA20.

I do have a MiD in hand and have used it extensively. I'm a geek, I like the profiles, I've made more then 10 profiles for atties and cartos I like and have achieved a better vape with these profiles. I can deal with the blinking light, but this isn't about what I can deal with, it's about a community of people who are conditioned to having a screen.

As cell phones got more complicated, the screen became more essential. They have made a more complicated ecig and taken a step back in the screen department.

The profiles and the real time vaping is awesome. They lowered the price...and I think they have the right numbers now. If they added a screen there would be no question in my mind that everyone would pick it up.

It's pretty simple...with a screen...instead of having to remember that my favorite boge profile is in the 3rd slot...the OLED could just tell me the name I have that profile "Favorite Boge" Good User experience design always aims to keep the user from ever having to think about what they are doing.

I fear that people will be turned off by the lack of a screen and they will miss out on the other features that are either innovative or far more robust then what we see in other ecigs.

Now like that, I think it would be great.

Here's my MiD One preview. I love what Janty is attempting and like what it is so far. There's tremendous potential here, but the hardware definitely needs some polishing.

Thanks RPad - I like your presenting style. You brought up some good points about who this might appeal to. Funny -the one thing you weren't so keen on, the joystick, is the thing I like.

I don't think people have to hold one before they can have an opinion on form factor though. How it performs functionally maybe, but people know what they lean towards, or prefer, form factor wise most of the time.

The joystick sounds like a good idea on paper, but the implementation could be better and a D-pad would be more accurate. I love the joystick for realtime vaping, but for controls it's not always accurate. For example, it often takes me several tries to do "five short clicks right" before it registers. Thankfully, this is production hardware, so as I mentioned in the text preview the tactility and accuracy can be improved.

I agree with you on form factor though. That's easy enough to judge based on photos video.

AND, thanks for watching/reading!

The more I think about it, the more I feel like this might be the mod to have for those of us who are into serious juicetesting.
With one mod you can cover the whole range of watts used in most devices currently at the market.
From lowish 5 - 7 used in Egos up to 20 - 25 watts used in low ohm gennies.
It all comes down to the connections of the mod.
