I recently ordered a couple bottles of Johnson Creek liquid because I like a couple of the flavors. I also went ahead and ordered a sampler as well so I could try the other flavors.

Anyway, I have read that Johnson Creek fluid has killed many many attys over time. Oddly enough, I had one of mine die tonight while trying some of the sampler flavors.

That being said, I think I made a discovery why this happens. I was reading in a couple of the Johnson Creek Liquid forums that many people think their fluid is way too thin. Well I notice when my atty died that the atty and battery seemed wet from the e-liquid. So I am guessing that their liquid is maybe a little thin thus causing it to seep through to the battery easier thus causing the battery to short the atty.

I may be totally off here but I truly feel that is exactly what happened to mine tonight. Feel free to share your thoughts on my theory and think back to when you might have lost one using their liquid and if you remember a similar thing happening.

Do you drip or use cartridges? What device(s) are you using?

I have never had an atty death as a direct result of using any Johnson Creek Smoke Juices. I do agree that it does appear to be somewhat thinner than some e-liquids I have used. There was some discussion months ago about this and the legend apparently continues. I am no certain what the outcome was.

I am using a Janty Dura-C I fill my own cartridges that I use Fluval in.

In another observation, I generally get a little spitting of fluid into my mouth once in a while with this liquid but not with the others that I use. Probably filling them a little much... but has not been a problem with the other liquids.

Regardless, I love the liquid from them and will continue to use it, just thought this might shed some light on things.

Your a RN4081 guy right?

I have M401 / 510 / 901 / 108, but my 4081 is my favorite and most reliable. I gave the 901, and the 108 to by brother in law, and he loves them.

I use my 4081 much like an analog. A vape break every 45min to one hour, and puff for a while. But when I'm on the puter, I use the passthrough, and the passthrough is in my mouth more than my tongue.

It just works for me.:thumb:

Couldn't tell by me, I use nothing but JC, attys burn out. No more, no less than any other juice, is my estimation, has to do more with battery power being constant or not, cigarette-type batteries tend to lose power to the end of the charge, IMHO that's when atty's get over-flooded with heat thickened juice and are corrupted. The next high charge will clinch the corruption. hot/cold/hot, a coated coil breaks. And don't tell me to soak them in cola, that's bogus too, but people like to feel they're doing something positive. My challenge to that: soak some coal in cola, see if it falls apart. Bet'cha it won't. Carboned-up attys will blow, pretty simple stuff. Just blow them out as you can, a lot of darkened juice will come out, can't be a bad thing, but that's all I ever do with them. Keep the connections clean, that helps for better burn.
Try burning an oil lamp with a carboned-up wick, it doesn't burn well, and more carbon forms. At least those can be trimmed and you're in business again. Not much can be done with any substance compatible with human life that will clean the carbon from a tiny coil wire without dissolving the whole atty and the hand holding it.

I should probably know this, but can you define VG and where to get it?

Sorry I searched and didnt find it but after some more work I know at least what VG is. Vegetable Glycerin. Still don't know where to get it though. I'll keep looking but if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great!

I vape JC juice as well as others. Never had a problem. I also use VG
once in a while to cut 36mg. People say VG kills attys. Never killed mine.
I suppose there are many variables as to why attys die, but I don't think its TW Juice.
Dave:cool:

People can say whatever they want. My VG mix is like molasses, My present atomizer is going on 4 months.

Scott;
VG=Vegetable Glycerin.

I get mine at CVS Pharmacy or Walmart, in the skin care section. CVS & Walmart each have their own brands. The bottle says Pure Glycerin USP. The USP means food grade.

wow, thanks so much. I had no idea it was so readily available. Vaporville, here i come!

It may just be dumb luck -- that is quite likely -- and I'm sorry because the people at JC are lovely, and responsive, and helpful, but I've noticed JC original - tobacco flavor kills my atomizers. I can't explain it, but brand new, and old reliable atomizers alike, 4 now all lost while vaping JC. I haven't had an atomizer last longer than three days using JC. In a cart, no flooding, no dripping.

My current atomizers have each been doing just fine using TW. One for three weeks in a 901, and the other in a 401 for a month and a half, and the third in a 510 for two weeks.

On VG.
With TW liquid, I've started cutting the liquid 10 drops of VG to every 20 drops of TW. It makes lovely, lovely vapor that hangs in the air. I've noticed no change in my atomizer's performance in the last 5 days.

The only drawback to vaping TW with VG has been the amount of vapor is much more noticeable. People notice it, and have feelings about it. I get to explain that it's not smoke a whole lot more.
