Here is a reply I got today from my senator.
Note where I highlighted in red. Tell me is he working for or against the tax.

Thank you for taking the time to contact my office about raising and expanding the federal excise tax on tobacco and tobacco-related products. Your input is important to me, and I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts.
I agree with you that raising the federal excise tax on tobacco is an imperfect way to fund government programs. As you may know, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act provides important funding to schools so that they can provide for special needs children. I recognize the importance of funding for IDEA, and I understand the positive effects this program has on many students' lives. As we consider this legislation going forward, I assure you that I will be working with my Senate colleagues to seek alternative revenue sources as needed that are more stable and equitable. The insights you have provided here will certainly help my staff and I more effectively look into this issue.

I'm all for funding schools but why is it that the tax on everything is for funding schools.
If all the taxes they put on stuff actually went to schools we all would have been collage grads.

Hi Summer, Dark and Nebula doesn't look I've missed much not being on for a couple of days
yeah, I'm okay I just have trouble with pain issues, so sometimes my hands hurt to much to type. Thanks for asking. You doing okay?
Hi Ty yeah I'm okay just the usual pain things going on. I wasn't sick like everybody else seemed to be about a week ago.
