Thanks Ever1ast! Yeah... that would be too much trouble. And I don't need clears anymore with this tank. My favorite carto though is the IKV 1.6 clear. It has filler.
Any reason just drilling a hole with one of these won't work/last?
I'll give it a try tomorrow. Just wondering if anybody has tried it.
edit: I'm guessing maybe a razor knife rather than a drill.... ?

People have been punching them to avoid metal filings in the filler from drilling. Also, to avoid drilling too deep and fouling the filler.
If you're going to try to drill be EXTREMELY careful. As soon as the drill bit breaks through, it's going to want to grab the filler and pull it all out of the hole. I'm not sure a clear cart will work anyway. The hole in the bottom cap is .364 +.001/ -0. I don't know what the size of a clear cart is.
Ok so i couldnt wait to get a pic of this on the Black Chrome ProVari so i threw an old ressurector in there for photo purposes. This is my new Mercury that i traded my Glacial Streams for with Grammie.

So now we are tank twins and if you are using it for the P+ you can see how it will look, my pic is back a few pages or in the tank pics over at the vaca home. Congrats, it's very striking, feminine but not too futsy.
Here's a tip maybe you have come across yet. I slide an 18g blunt needle all the way through the air hole of a new cart BEFORE punching it. This helps minimize crushing the filler around the air hole and causing a tight draw. That tight draw will also make it flood easier as it's trying to pull air AND liquid from the tank instead of from the battery connector.
Great tip Jon, and I just tried one for the first time using a new carto and flavor. The saddle valve does not make as big a hole as the carto you sent with the tank but it's still working just fine. Thanks again Jon, I'm loving this tank o' mine.
well i got my lava the other day.. it took me a few days to get off my but and give it a shot.. it works great.. leak free and wicks faster than my old c2 tank.... so fare its keeping up with my needs... Ive onely been using it for today.. but so fare so good... nice work jonboy!!!
Wheeeeeee! Somewhere there's a Safety & Compliance guy still having nightmares over that first vid. LOL!!
